lol, ditto...I really need to learn how to slow down.

Yeah! No problem for me! Of course I chewed until pureed, but yeah, I'm glad I'm not one of those with egg problems...I'd be so sad.

I'm starting mushies today, so I had a scrambled egg and 1/4 cup corned beef hash...it was awesome lol.

No, I didn't drive, we flew. I actually didn't drive again until 1.5 weeks post op. I was on a low carb/low fat/high Protein diet for 7 days pre-op, but it was optional since my BMI was under 40. My last supper was a 4 cheese pizza from a nice italian place by the hotel...it was delicious. The drain was not uncomfortable...only when they removed it, but it wasn't really painful...just weird. No, they didn't numb, but it didn't really hurt much. I didn't ask to be numbed, though... I am a stay at home mom, so I don't have to leave the house much. :crying:

Hi! I was sleeved 2 weeks ago by Dr Aceves. Everything went perfect! I had a drain pouch for 3 days. I wasn't really afraid of a leak. All my leak tests went great. You drink apple juice with blue dye and if it shows up in the drain pouch, then you have a leak. You also do a barium swallow & x-ray. My surgery took 2 hours (virgin tummy). He also removed a haital hernia. The pain was not bad at all. My only problem, which was non-surgery related, was I got a cold a day after surgery (my kids had it the week before, so I'm guessing that's where I got it). It hurt to cough (the incisions) and I had a fever of 101, so I had to take antibiotics and they gave me a shot in the butt (this was after they removed my IV) of fever reducer. UGH lol. That was the worst part...but if you're not sick, then no worries lol. As for food, the day of surgery (for 24 hours), you get nothing...just an IV drip..no ice, etc. The second day, you get the apple juice blue dye drink, then Water, yummy broth and more apple juice. The next day is about the same, etc. The day you go home, they gave me containers to take with on the drive of broth, Jello, crystal lite and apple juice. hope this helps a bit! I am so happy with my choice to go to Mexico & Dr Aceves!

Good to know Slimfast is on the list! Does anyone know if it's ok to add frozen fruit?? -
Wow, that's a lot of inches lost! WTG! Muscle mass is smaller than fat mass, so you have probably just gained more muscle and lost more fat, kwim? I'm sure someone else could word that better! lol

Hi! I also have a BMI lower than 40, but either way, my insurance won't cover weight loss surgery. I'll be going to Mexico for mine. I actually just talked to someone in Mexico about the process, but I have a lot of research left. I imagine my next step will be calling a fill dr here in Utah since I am not sure I'll want to go to Mexico for all the fills. I guess so I can get on his patient list? I don't know what steps I need to do, actually lol. See, I have a lot of research left  Good luck!!!

What was the straw that broke the camel's back for you?

For me, it has been various reasons, but yesterday while driving down the street, my 4 year old son saw a horse and announced "Look, that horse's butt is as big as mommy's!!!". I haven't been able to tear myself away from the computer all day (doing research). -
Hello! I've been learning about the lap band for over a year (been on & off of WW, tracking calories etc, in the meantime...no great results). I will be self-pay, so I am doing a lot of research on procedures done in Mexico. I'm 30, a wife to my loving dh for 8 years and mom to 2 wild & crazy kids (a boy-4, and a girl-7). We live in Eagle Mountain, Utah. I have about 90-100 lbs to lose....been overweight most of my life, been on a diet for the past 10 years. Really wanting the lap band. I'm a healthy eater, but I eat too much! lol I haven't discussed surgery with my husband yet...I hate taking about my weight. Yesterday my 4 year old compared me to a horse ...the truth sure hurts!
