    Can not eat after surgery

Hello! he really needs to see a doctor! I am less than 90 days out, and I am tolerating food. Some foods I can’t, and if they upset my stomach a heating pad will help with stomach spasms and I have stomach spasms pills that were given to me. But most thing my stomach will tolerate. I hope he gets to a good doctor to fix the issue.

    So frustrated

I found to help hungry was using vital proteins collagen. I mixed it with sugar free ocean spray juice. I also use the fiber powder from bariatric advantage. I still using it post op but add miralax to it.

    January Surgery buddies

It will take about a week or so. Make sure to light walk around every hour to 2 hours for 10-15 mins. Take your meds and gasx. Use a hot water bottle or heating pad, and alternate with ice packs. Try a binder as well. I would do hot water bottle for an hour, and ice pack for 30 mins. Several times a day. If I was laying there I had heat or ice pack on my upper belly. This gave me the best comfort. Use the spirometer, and this helps even though it can be painful. I would also do light slow windmills with my arms to help work the air they fill you up with.
  5. Have you tried the glycerins suppositories? On my list it states safe to use 2-3 times a day.

    Shopping list

Zero Sugar Pedialyte. Gatorade zero with protein, Gatorade fit. Bone broth. With my doctors it is more about staying hydrated. I was told to push the pedialyte and Gatorade for electrolytes. Protein shakes. the pedialyte I tolerate better then Gatorade. also recommend a hot water bottle to help push the gas through and gas x. And may want to alternate hot water bottle with ice pack until the pain has resided.

I found the pre made shakes to be good. The Ensure max protein Vanilla is really good.

    January Surgery buddies

Today had my surgery. Gastric by pass. It was done at 530. The party pain isn’t as bad as o thought it would be. Walking and sitting in the chair really helps. So do the drugs. A lot of burping. I am able to tolerate fluid and a popsicle. I hope I keep this progress up. Good luck to all having the surgery. Sending best wishes.

    October 2022 surgery support

I was using Miralax as well before trying Milk of Magnesium. For me, Milk of Magnesium moved my system to clean it out.

Try Milk or Magnesium. I noticed on liquid by bowels were not but I didn’t feel constipated etc. however, after taking milk of magnesium my bowels moved and I dropped like 8 lbs, then after that it has been about a lb to 2 lbs a day. But only took that one dose if magnesium last week. Good luck in your surgery. I just got post pone to January, just got sick.

    October 2022 surgery support

Anyone having to cook for their kids? This has been a huge struggle. Not to taste while cooking, to smell the food, and then put it way. All without trying a bite.

Multivitamins, try Barimelts. Bariatric advantage orange is not that great. Well it is better if you don’t chew and just let it slowly dissolve. My dr did advise can use Flintstone as well. Bariatric Advantage calcium chews are good but later I will switch to the CVS brand after I heal up and see how things are tolerated. Barimelts Vd3. B12. Biotin. Premier protein. Coffee one is not good, it has caffeine. Want to avoid caffeine after surgery. Try premier protein cake batter, peanut butter cup, Carmel, rootbeer is okay. I hear pumpkin spice was good. muscle milk zero sugar vanilla,Chocolate and strawberry (they are less sweet than premier vanilla chocolate and strawberry) Also use bariatric Advantage fiber. Vital proteins non flavor. Also you can sugar free sauces G Hughes sugar feee sauce, skinny girl dressing, and Jordan’s skinny syrups are good as well. I like use the syrups in the shakes. Like a mocha premiers chocolate shake, or I can caramel. Or to a Carmel shake I can add vanilla syrup. Also syrups are good in black decaf coffee with 1 pack if stevia. Light cheese string, i buy the Walmart brand but I think it taste better at room temperature Just know after surgery, your hormones will change and so will your taste buds.
