YAY!!!:regular_smile: I just had my surgery last Monday (Oct. 6) and I'm doing good. I was back at work for 1/2 day on Thursday! I've already lost 19 lbs including the pre-op diet. Good luck to you! I'm from NC, too! I had my surgery at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville.

I'm October 6! ONE week from tomorrow! YAY!:teeth_smile: And I will survive this liquid diet. I will.

One more week for me for this liquid diet thing! My surgery is one week away. My blender and I have become very good friends! I've added sugar free jello pudding powder to my protein shakes...not sure if this is really "allowed", but it does make them taste better.

Does your dr. require the pre-op liquid diet? Are you on it now? Mine required a 4-week one! I wouldn't want to be on a cruise and on a liquid diet....so I was just wondering. LOL:wink2: Have a great time!!! (Oct. 6 is my surgery day.)

I have told practically everyone I know! I have a big mouth. LOL I, too need all the support I can get! :-)

My date is October 6, too!!! I just found out today! YAY!!! So....Monday I start the 4 week pre-op diet of liquid, Liquid, Small Meal 2 weeks; then Liquid, Liquid, Liquid for the next 2 weeks. I can do this!

Let's just see if this worked....

I am getting so excited just reading stuff on these forums. I hope to be part of this "smashing pumpkin" group!!! Please help me pray that I get approval from the insurance. Friday will be 2 weeks since the info was sent. I have had my psych exam and seen the nutritionist (as required by my surgeon in Statesville, NC). Now, all there is to do is wait and get a date! I can't wait!!! Cindy:thumbup:

Exciting!! I'm waiting on my insurance.....I'm hoping my date will be 10/13.

Great news! I should hear something within the next week about my approval/denial, too. I'm happy for you! (Cross your fingers for me, please!)

Hello everyone! I've decided to have the lap band surgery probably in October or November of this year. I have found out that my health insurance will pay 90% of the cost. I've been "dieting" my way up to 267 lbs and I'm finally fed up. This is it. I've already been to an information session and everything....this is the right thing for me to do. I just wanted to say "hello" and sort of introduce myself. I am from NC. I'm 40 years old. I have 2 kids -- 19 and 9 and I've been dating a wonderful (supportive) guy for 1 1/2 years now. I want to lose the weight for me. I'm tired of being tired....if that makes any sense? :-) I look forward to hearing any feedback you may can share with me to sort of ease my nervousness about all this.

I wish you the best! I'm probably having the procedure in October of this year. Just reading some of the stories on here have eased my tensions about it.

I'm waiting to be banded as well. I'm having it done in Statesville, NC.

I am planning on getting banded in October or November of this year in Statesville, NC ---- Dr. Gary Robinson. I've met with him in an information session already and he seems very nice.
