    You've got it. Absolutely this!

    How to update weight

Ah - I just scroll down, get to the 'together we have lost...' thing on the right hand side of the screen, and update my weight from there!

So maybe I lost weight after all LOL

Arrrrgh! You've reminded me that I've gone past my 9 month date without taking my monthly photo! Off to do that now. I am so enjoying looking back at my journey already.

So maybe I lost weight after all LOL

Oh wow - so noticeable! Fab to see such a difference so soon after your surgery. Loving the new profile pic too!!!
  5. OMG I am doing this too and didn't even register it as a NSV - just thought 'why have I been sitting so far back before?' and moving the seat gradually forward! Also tall although not quite as tall as you kcuster83.
  6. Well I commend you for your fortitude liveaboard but no way could I wait a month or even a fortnight between weigh ins! OP it is totally normal to see no loss in a 4 day or even a 2 or 3 week spell. These are stalls. We all experience them on our weight loss journeys. I hope you start to lose again soon - I suspect you will *really* soon!
  7. Are you still eating protein first KB? Hitting your fluid targets in between? And getting all your protein every day? If any of those have slipped might it be worth going back to basics to see if you can stay full for longer? Also, when you say you *can* eat again, does that mean you actually feel proper hunger? If not then could this be head hunger/boredom (or curiosity!!) eating? Have you regained any weight? I do hope you can get it sorted quickly, I can see how that would concern you.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

And today is my 9 monthiversary. How's everyone else from November 22 doing now?

    Pureed food

I just stuck whatever I was making for the family's dinner in a blender and ate that. In fact I usually made 2 or 3 portions so that was my food for a day! It was absolutely fine and in fact after having only liquids for so long I thought it was sooo tasty and delicious.

    Rate of loss post-op

Really interesting thread. The calculator is way out for me (thankfully!) but again most interesting to see it and play around with it.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Great to hear from you all! It's so interesting how we have picked such a range of goal weights/BMIs. I am almost exactly 9 months out now, 108lbs lost, BMI is 24.8, still losing about a pound a week and absolutely loving that. Gonna ride this horse as far as it gets me Loving my new life.
  12. I'm so sorry you're having to consider revision so soon after your original surgery. Do you think it might be useful to think about the weight loss you've managed to achieve with your current surgery, and the reflux you've unfortunately experienced separately? I have had reflux symptoms for years. They always improved when I lost weight, so after a long discussion with my surgeon I decided to go for sleeve gastrectomy as opposed to bypass. In my case the gamble (calculated) paid off. I DID in fact improve as soon as I lost a significant amount of weight again. With regards to losing weight after a VSG that is an issue you might want to address completely separately. If you can eat around a sleeve then you may be able to eat around a bypass. Do you have food addiction issues or other psychological issues that might benefit from discussion with a bariatric therapist? Having had my sleeve 9 months ago I can't imagine how I would have approached it other than how I did - as a tool to help me lose weight if I stuck to certain (hard) rules. I wish you all the best in your journey. There are many many roads to successful long-term weight loss. Seems like you've already taken a big step along one of those roads.

At Lunch at first day of Family Vacation!

I hope you have been able to get past this initial upset OP. Lots of things (including our own expectations) need to be reset after surgery. But in the middle of that we need to be alive to the expectations of our families and friends - it isn't and will never be all about us. We have chosen a path, we need to align that path to the paths of our family as best we can. Best of luck sorting this out

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

I'm heading the same way @geilli1048 I've already maxed out on my usual calories today and I'm hungry again so I'm going to have to eat more. Yes I agree we need to be extra good at protein first and everything else will hopefully follow! Lots of people say losing the last 10 - 20lbs is really difficult and can take months. I think we've got this and we're gonna make it to goal!

    WOOHOO!

Woohoo indeed, what a milestone! Well done.
  16. That's amazing - you will be so pleased you did this when you get to the other end of your weight loss journey and those 61lbs aren't still ahead of you! I stayed on my 800 calories, any way, pre-op diet (give or take) for 2 months because my surgery was cancelled first time round. I lost 25lbs in those 2 months and I am so glad I did even though it was tough at the time. Best of luck - I bet you cannot wait.

    High protein snacks

Not my kinda food at all but glad you found them locally, and that they're helping you along in your journey! Take it where you can get it I say

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Stalls are the absolute worst. They shake your faith in EVERYTHING! Keep the faith @DaisyAndSunshine if you're sticking to the programme then you might well lose those last few pounds, even if it takes a while. You have done so so very well. I really want to lose about another 10 lbs although I accept that may or may not happen.

    Sleeve or Bypass Regrets?

Absolutely not one moment of regret here. I think the sleeve is the best of all worlds (but then I would say that because it's worked well for me too)! Not one for FOMO - life is far too short. Enjoy your loss OP.

    Exercise "tricks"

Hello my surgery twin! Glad to hear you're doing so well. I also started running again recently. I only like to do it outside and if I run outside I don't need any additional input, either audio or visual - I just like to look at and listen to (immerse myself in) the scenery and wildlife!! Before I could run properly I just set a goal for steps on my fitbit and ensured I reached it every day, walking faster and faster, and longer and longer every time. Best of luck with your running xx

    Pre op blood screenings

I had no specific blood tests pre-op but have the ones other people have mentioned post-op. I think a lot of centres lump sleevers in with bypass patients although they are such different procedures. I have followed my programme stipulations religiously so far with supplements but honestly at 9 months out from a sleeve I am eating so much proper food that I will probably give up on supplements soon, if only to see what my blood levels are like without them!

    Alcohol

I am Irish and I'm afraid alcohol is baked into my culture. I have drunk some wine most weekends since 6 weeks after I had my sleeve last November when my (Irish!) surgeon and nutritionist permitted it. Yes I do get a hit much quicker than I used to, especially if I haven't eaten much beforehand, and yes, it wears off much quicker too. I do count the calories and I only do it at weekends. It has probably slowed my weight loss but I'm accepting that. I totally get that mightn't be acceptable to other people. But IMO it hasn't held me back *that* much.

    Caffeine!!!!

I was never told to give up coffee and I don't think I would have been able to. Drank it right through my pre-op diet and immediately post op. Might actually have been a game changer for me if my surgeon had recommended it but thankfully he didn't.
  24. Oh this is interesting. I haven't learned to eat more slowly after surgery because I have a busy job and a busy life. I have no idea how people have the time to spend 30+ minutes eating a small meal several times a day. Once I learn how much food my pouch will handle I just gulp that (or close to it - maybe 90%?) down as quickly as possible, and then wait to see whether I'm done. If I'm not quite full I will eat the remnants of my meal in one swoop. I have never vomited, and never had the foamies yet, although I understand this is pure luck. Think my surgery has worked so well in my favour - I would find to extremely hard to tolerate what some people have to.

    Days off work after surgery

I booked 2 weeks off (holiday leave) and with hindsight I needed every second of that. Even when I returned to work I wasn't at my best for a couple of weeks afterwards. There's terrible pressure to get back into the office. If I had had a cancer diagnosis and got 2/3 of my stomach removed to treat it I can't help feeling I would have 'allowed' myself longer to recover. The procedure is similar, despite this having being my choice.
