Hey Volcano lady, I was thinking about you this week. I read a really good blog on here about fills and wanted to give you a copy. It really made the whole process of fills simple, and easy to relate what we are going through and what and when we need to ask for a fill. I'm sorry you couldn't get in sooner, but it sounds like you are adjusting better , as of late. I feel fantastic, I'm starting back swimming tomorrow. I'm losing a couple of pounds a week, and the Doctor says, I'm right where I should be. I go back on March 30th. We are really busy with the house, there is something going on here everyday. I've been helping Cliff with some painting and am finishing the mosaic tileing on the kitchen pillars, I've been working on for years ! Big accomplishment, and I'm thrilled I have the energy to do it. I'll talk to you soon. Stay well and I'm glad your doing better with the fill.

Wendell, I just wanted to say thank you for the most helpful and simplified version of a fill, I have read. My surgery was 2/9/2009. Other lap band patients that went before me, are complaining about no restriction, even after one or two fills. I feel just right myself. We do have the problem you mention in #1, We live in Hilo and have to fly to Honolulu for our fills, and the surgeon told one of the banders, her first fill , he was just giving her .2c/c, so as not to over fill and have her, to turn around and fly back. I'm going to pass this info along at our next Bariatric meeting. I think it would be very helpful. Kaiser in Honolulu has only been doing the Lap-Band for a couple of years now, so I am part of a pioneer group from the Big Island.

Thanks for answering my post, Mr. Rice Guy ! You might already be over your gas, by now, but even if you are, continue to walk, walk walk. Moving our bodies is one of the bet things we can do for ourselves. Just think of all he fun things you are going to be able to do with your little girl. Runing after her is going to give you joy and keep you fit at the same time . Men tend to lose faster then women,so your progress will probably be faster then me, but that's okay, I'm much older and I ave a lt of patience ! Good luck !

Patty, I have to laugh, I'm so ignorant about this blogging thing. I need you to show me how to add my picture and the ticker tape etc. Anyway, it was great seeing you Saturday, you look great! I don't know if it's just me, but that lady sitting on the other side of you, looks terrible, and so do most of the bypass people, to me. Their skin color, and thin dull hair, they are not the picture of good health! We are going to look much better then they do, in the long run ! Sorry I didn't hang out after with you, but I needed to pick up a valentine and present for Cliff and some other incidentals, and I'm pacing myself. I feel great, but it's only been 6 days , and I'm all about treating myself great from here on out ! I definetly feel restriction, I will have to find out on the 20th, how many c/c's I have. I am so happy for you , about the exercise, before you know it, you are going to be a little hottie ! I know we can do this ! Talk to you soon.

Aloha wintobethin & Merry Christmas ! I'm responding to you for several reasons. I'm 58, I'm waiting for the surgeons call, I pray to God it's January, I have been waiting 2 long , long years, and 3rd, I have sleep apnea. Sounds like we have something in common ! I received pre surgery info that said , bring your sleep apnea machine with you for surgery. Now the whole program with Kaiser in Hawaii has been geared toward by-pass surgery, so we have been misinformed many times over the duration of the program, regarding guidelines for lap-band. I'd like to stay in touch, if you'd like to be friends, let me know. And I wish you and everyone else the very best.
