    Having a low time.

 I am in my last month of my preop program with Kaiser. I'm very disheartened with some of the so called professionals in this program. I don't even know where to start, I guess I have to pray about it some more . Will try and share when I have a clearer mind.

Thank you. I'll be fine. I got to air things out with my behaviarist today, which is part of the Kaiser bariatric program. I felt she understood what my concerns & frustrations were. I will share with the lap-band community in the near future. Your all a wonderful blessing.
  3. Thank you for the encouragement, but I haven't got the surgery yet, I'm waiting to be presented. I haven't lost weight, but I've definetly lost inches and one size. You see, I diligently work out 20 1/2 hours a week. I walk 1 mile first thing in the morning and then 2 hour water auerobics, everyday, 7 days a week. I haven't felt physically this good in years. I've been sticking to around 1500 calories a day. I eat no whites, meaning sugar, flour, rice, potatoes etc. Just had a root canal and am having major dental work done, so I started on the liquid diet Friday and I'm staying on it until I go for my last program appt. on the 28th. I'm down, because of the Kaiser bariatric program I'm in. I gained 3 pounds since I had my bariatric orientation in June, but I ignored it, because I know I'm doing all the healthy good things I can do for my body, mind and spirit . Kaiser dietician told me if I didn't lose the 3 pounds by the 28th I wouldn't be presented to the surgeon. I intentionallly don't weigh myself before appointments, because I don't want the numbers to discourage me. I know being on the liquids I should have no problem losing 3 pounds, but if I don't, despite all the other positives, they are threatening me with more delays, I've already been waiting 2 years. This was a last resort, severe restriction of calories, otherwise I'd do it on my own. You are in my prayers, I know how difficult it is, and thousands have it far worse then me.

  5. I like that quote wicked me !
  6. Thank you wins pretty woman. I've been finding more and more since I started looking, and for me variety is key. If the taste isn't right for me, I won't choke it down. I've got a good variety, thanks to ll your replys. It should get me through pre and post surgery.
  7. Thanks, I went on line to order. It was $43 for shipping 32oz. or 12 bullets, to Hawaii. It came out to $80 something for 12 bullets. Someone just told me, we can get them here on the island, I'll check .
  8. This topic was a God sent for me today ! Thank all of you. I am pre surgery. I have been faithfully working out 14 hours a week, swimming aerobics. The last 2 month weigh in, I gained 3 pounds. I am averaging about 150 calories a day. So I was told by the dietician if I didn't lose the 3 pounds by the end of this month, I wouldn't be presented to the surgeon. So I added in a mile walk every morning before I swim. Like many of you said, cross training is important for some of us. But then yesterday at my bariatric montly meeting, one of the women said, that's why your not losing, your exercising too much. Did not make sense, but it put the negative out there ! I like some of you are losing the inches. I don't just want to be thin again, I want to be more fit then I've ever been in my life and I'm 58 ! Hang in there drupp0314. This group made my day, I'm headed to the pool !
  9. Thank you very much chicamam, for the E-Mail. I am going to give this a try. I am starting on the liquid and soft for the next month, just had another lower molar removed today and am not able to chew for the next month, so I look at it , as all working out for the best. And hopefully I can get some weight off before the surgery, so I won't have quite so much to lose.
  10. Wow, thanks, I'm going to try this one, the price is cheap compared to Atkins and the grams are double.
  11. Aloha Shamrock girl. I have one more post with the dietician, but I have been doing Atkin shakes (15 gr and add one scoop Red Mill whey protien, another 16 gr. protein. I've also gotten used to adding a scoop of whey protein to nonfat yogurt and cream soups. I'm very seldom hungry between meals, the protein fills me up and I'm not banded yet. I'm 58 and having a heck of a time losing. Can't wait to have surgery! Hope you are feeling good otherwise.
  12. Aloha ! It's nice to see a Big Island sista on here. I had my orientation in June, with Kaiser. I'm now going through the 6 month pre-op program. I think it would be a big mistake not to take any surgery, very seriously. This is definetly a great platform to air your concerns and get great support. You have gotten a lot of great feedback, I hope it soothes your fears.
  13. Aloha Everyone! I have been on the waiting list 15 months with Kaiser in Honolulu. I just went to my orientation 6/17. Now I am realizing it may be another 5 months or more to get my surgery. I don't want to get discouraged, I actually started looking into bariatric surgery 5 years ago. I kept holding the hope that, with good healthy eating choices & exercise I could lose the weight. Instead, I have actually gained another 80 pounds, bringing my current pounds to lose, to 150. I attended my first group last week & there was only one other person there, out of about 15, who was going to have the Lap Band and he sounded like he was being swayed by the end of the group session. I am hoping there are some people in this community I can relate to. For now I will just read & learn as much as I can. Thankyou for providing me with a place to come for support.
