Has anyone used any ointments on their scars? I was told by my surgeon that they would disappear over time, but I would like to speed up the process. I was curious to see if anyone used Maderma or any other products.

I also had the gas pain in my shoulder. I just kept moving around and took gas x, and it seemed to help. It is hard to drink water the first few days, but it will get better.
-
I was also told 3 meals a day, and two protein shakes in between.

As long as your bmi is over 40, most insurance companies will cover your surgery. My first step was to go to a seminar, and get informed. The second thing I did was meet with a surgeon, and than my primary care doctor. I would suggest that you find a seminar first. That is what helped me with my decision.

I got banded on July 7, and I used Dr. Edward Pucci in Denville. The group is Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons Of New Jersey. They were excellent and I am pretty sure they have a few locations.

Waiting time on Lap Band surgery
jry17 replied to RondaK's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It took me about 3 months to get the lap band. The first thing I did was to attend a seminar. After that it went rather quickly. My insurance was great also, so I did not have to do the six month diet like a lot of others. -
Hope someone out there can help me......

I was very sick after my surgery due to the anastasia. I slept most of the entire first day. The second day I was able to move around in my house, but I would not have been able to go to class. By the third day I was doing a little better and drove to the store. After being out for about an hour, I was exausted. Good luck, and every situation is different. -
I agree with the viactiv. It is like having a little treat. I also take vitamin B-12 (sublingual).

That is exactly how I feel. When I eat, I get full quickly. About 2-3 hours later, I am starving. How can the hunger be controled?
-
I also know how you feel. I don't get the headaches, but I always feel hungry. I drink plenty of water, but I still get hunger pains. I am 2 weeks post, and I hope it gets better.:biggrin2:

Hi everyone. My name is Jennifer and I got my band on July 2. I went today for my 2 week check-up, and I lost 16 pounds. I felt the first three days after surgery were tough. I had a lot of gas pain in my chest and shoulders. I am so happy that I decided to go through with the band, even after the pain. I wish a lot of luck to everyone in their weight loss journey.
