Had my RNY October 5th. I was diabetic, so getting off those meds was goal #1. After the 2-week pre-op diet, I had come off all my meds, but was hesitant to say I would be free from those after surgery. Had my appointment with my diabetes doc at 4-weeks post-op, she declared my diabetes was now in remission, and we said our goodbyes! Daily glucose sticks are between 80-92...no matter when I test them! Goal #2...reduce size & get back to feeling "normal", whatever that will be!

Unsweet tea, with Stevia! I was adding the no-sugar Torano flavorings to my vanilla shakes, and started having headaches. Figured out the the type of sweetener they use cases headaches. Switched to Skinny brand, and everything is fine. -
Bariatric Fusion vs Bariatric Advantage
Koaboy61 replied to BirdLady21's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My surgeon told me that of her patients that used Bariatrc Advantage had the best post-op labs, by far. Their protein is pretty expensive, so I got mine through GNC or WalMart. After the chewable vitamin phose, I stuck with their non-chewable multivitamins. I don't know...I feel good! Their chewy calcium tablets are pretty awesome. -
4th day Sind gastric by pass

Also, make sure your vital signs are normal. No fever and BP/pulse are normal for you. If they are good, and you have no black/bloody stools, there isn't anything bad going on...probably. -

Most of your pain will come from the portal they did most of the work from. Mine was on the left side. Biggest thing I can tell you is push through anything uncomfortable, and whatever pain you can easily tolerate. Worked for me. It gets better. -
Question about food/drink post-surgery

The liquids tend to pass right through your new pouch with little effort. -
Binders (girdles, lol) would have been nice for about the first week. The first cough/sneeze made me wish I had taken them up on it at the hospital!
