    November Surgery Buddies!!!

I was scared too. But I knew I had to do it to have a better life. I kept repeating this... "I shall not fear failure, but rather I shall only fear not having tried. " There will be some pain... they will give drugs for that. My pain was gone in a few days. No norco needed once I came home. Clear liquids and full liquids went fine. No dumping for me. Honestly, the tough part for me is getting enough water. You've got this. 1 month from now, you'll be very happy.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Finally able to eat di ner with the family tonight. Strained Chicken Tortilla Soup with sour cream. It was great. But, I still look forward to chewing. 21 days since start of pre-op diet. 46# gone. Monday begins puree.

I agree on not weighing!!! I am committed to weighing only every Sunday. Another good tracking method, that shirt or clothing item that you're almost into that is just not there yet... try on every other week. Last 2 days of full liquids... treats today of Malt o Meal with cinnamon for breakfast and a tortilla soup, strained with sour cream for later. Focusing on at least 36 oz of water today.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Still on Full Liquids. Looking forward to puree. It's getting tough though. I haven't weighed myself... decided to do that only on Sundays. Not sure I feel like I've lost much weight this week. Surgery was last week Monday... so I'm 12 days out. I need to figure out how to get walking in. It's suddenly cold here.. 30 degrees. Compound that with constantly feeling cold after surgery and I do not want to go outside. I'm worried that I'm not getting enough protein. I know I'm allowed my protein shakes now, but the thought turns me off.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Crazy Scale victory... So, from the time I started my pre-OP diet for 1 week prior to surgery.... that was 2 weeks ago today, until now... 1 week post-OP, I'm down 40#. Non Scale victories... soreness almost gone. Water weight in legs and hands vastly gone. But most importantly, I did all of this due to an arrhythmia and that too is now 95% gone.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Had surgery Monday. Not gunna lie, it was painful after .. but I managed. Honestly... it's the gas build up that hurts the most. My incisions are not too bad. Move and walk as much as you can after surgery...it helps move the gasses out. Today is day 3 post op and I'm much better. Hardest part now is that I'm a side sleeper. I have to hug a pillow tightly to support my belly to control the pain at night. Rolling over is not fun,but once you're there, you'll be good. Good luck everyone!

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

For me, I've had covid twice, once after the phizer. After the second time, I developed an arrhythmia that effects me about 2 days per week. My primary and my cardiologist both suggested this for me. I'm very overweight, so losing weight will be a bonus. But fixing the arrhythmia is my goal first.

Thank you. I think it's the finality of it that kinda scares me. But I know it's necessary.
