Hi Caolin, If you go into advanced instead of quick post it will let you pick smilies. :mad: Good luck on your liquid diet! I don't start mine for a couple of weeks yet but am headed on vacation on the fourth. I'm going to do my best to not gain and hopefully lose while I'm at it.

I've done 2 amazing things this week. Yesterday I went to a new gym for the first time. I loved it. I went back tonight after work and got on the treadmill. I am completely shocked how much more fun it was to walk on their treadmill than on the one I have at home. lol. Tonight I went to my first lapband support group. It was wonderful. There were people there who were banded 3 and 4 months ago who had lost 50+ lbs. I can't wait for it to be me! It was very interesting and super supportive. I want all the support I can get. lol. To all of you on the liquid diet, hang in there! I'll be joining you in a couple of weeks. I've decided to do it for 2 weeks even though my surgeon only requires 1. I want to drop as much as I can before surgery. Marcy, what an adorable family! BreadLady, you are my inspiration! Frustrated, I'm playing the waiting game now. Congratulations on your insurance approval and your surgery date! You too Snaggletooth! Sorry, guess I was a chatterbox tonight too. Chimboree, thanks for posting a pic of the bracelet. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Chimboree, my little surgery buddy, thank you for adding me to your calendar. I soooo love your list. I can relate to everything on it. I'm going to Fiji next June and would really love to go scuba diving. I've never even considered doing anything like that before. I would love to get into any booth in a restaurant and not be squeezed too tight. I want to shop in a clothing store that only goes up to 14's. I want to look good with my shirt tucked in. Just a few I can think of this late.

Hi everyone, Welcome to all the newbies! You will find support here anytime you need it! BreadLady, let me know how the camping thing works out. I'm scheduled to be banded on a Wednesday and my whole family is going camping for the week starting Sunday. Do you think that might be too soon? There will be motorhomes and tents. I'm considering taking my recliner with me too. lol. How weird is that? I just hate to miss out, you know? I hope everyone had a good weekend. Time for bed. lol. :notagree

:wave: Welcome Dieka! This is an awesome board to be on. You picked a great month to be banded! :whoo:Jackie, wahoo you have a date. You will be banded 2 days before me. I can't wait to start my new life! Patti C - It sounds like hospitals aren't always the same with what they require after this surgery. My surgeon said after I wake up from surgery I will have ice chips only the first day. The next morning they will bring me a protein drink that will take me around an hour to drink. If that goes ok then they will release sometime after noon. Felicia, stay strong. That is why dieting never worked for me. I have a huge family and there is always a celebration of some kind or a holiday or a vacation going on. lol. If you need us, we are here for you. Dini, I have a long haired chihuahua I've been thinking the same thing about. How am I going to keep her from jumping on me. She sleeps at the foot of my bed every night. Ok, she is a bit spoiled but loves everybody!

Hi Snaggletooth. I wish I had a choice. It is the hospital rules I guess, not the surgeon that insists on an overnight stay.

I have a denim jacket that I bought 20 years ago when I lost over 100# on a liquid diet. I didn't fit into it for long but it is the one thing I have never been able to throw away. I would LOVE to get back into it again someday!

It really helps to ease my fears having an idea of what to expect. I'm supposed to spend a night in the hospital too. What about everyone else? Are some of you going to be released the same day of surgery? Just curious. Marcy and Chimboree, I want to be a "Hottie Jalottie" in January too! I just love this group! I'm a newbie that has been lurking for awhile too. Marcy, I'm glad it sounds like there are a lot of other people around you that have had WLS also. I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of the cold. I was raised in Montana, way too cold for me in the winter. lol IndioGirl, if you get a chance, the next time you update the calendar would you mind adding me onto the 25th please? I can't believe how many of us there are on it already! I went to see my second opinion surgeon today so all is done for the insurance but the waiting....sigh

Wow, Marcy. I've heard of Nome, Alaska but had no idea it was so isolated. I think I might get a little stir crazy. Do you have a good support system there?

Thank you Laurend and Lynette617. I like the idea of posting an excercise goal. Honestly that is the one area I worry about. A big excerciser I am not. I'm hoping to get into a walking routine for starters. IndioGirl55 I'm hoping for insurance approval next week too. Don't you just hate to wait! lol. I think that is one reason I'm so overweight, I'm an instant satisfaction kind of girl. I sat at 300 lbs for years. I went to Fiji this year in March and started dieting a few months in advance. I of course wanted to lose a bunch of weight before I left. I think all I did was anger my body since I kept gaining and losing and finally ended up 20lbs heavier! That was the breaking point for me. I decided enough already, I need help with this. btw I still had a fabulous time in Fiji and plan on going back next June. Hopefully much thinner. My dream is to go scuba diving next year!

Hi everyone, Can I join this fun group? I'm tentatively scheduled for July 25th if my insurance doesn't mess me up. I see my second opinion surgeon tomorrow (insurance requirement) then my paperwork will be submitted to insurance on Friday!!! Keeping my fingers crossed big time!!! I am so excited to start this new chapter of my life. Weight 317 Height 5'3"

PurpleMonkey, I'm guessing it takes time for our mind to catch up with what our bodies are doing when you lose so quickly. I know that I have a mental picture in my mind of how big I am and am always shocked how much bigger I look in a picture. I am sure you are looking fabulous after losing so much weight! You are such an inspiration! I remember losing 140# about 15 years ago on the famous liquid diet. I was wearing size 10 and 12 and still felt huge. I look back at those pictures now and wish I was there again. Stay strong! I think you are doing awesome!

I'm so sorry to hear about your foot. I hope you heal quickly and are up on your feet soon! Thank you for the welcome. I have an appointment with my surgeon on the 19th and am hoping to get at least 5 more lbs gone before then. I can't wait to feel some restriction.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a few months and have learned so much. I've decided the LapBand is the best choice for me. Now that I've made up my mind I'm so excited to get started! I just finished my psych evaluation and am waiting to hear back from my insurance. They cover the LapBand and with my Diabetes and High Blood pressure the coordinator thinks it will be a slam dunk. If all goes well I'll be looking at a surgery date the end of July. The hardest thing for me right now is they want me to lose 25+ pounds before surgery. I've lost 5 in the last few days so am on my way! I love this thread. It gives me hope. :dance:
