    Any December 2021 bypass people?

So I had a RNY revision on 12/13. The first time I had surgery, I lost zero lbs in the first week and then it started falling off. This time I lost 10 lbs preop diet, 5 lbs in the first week. It has now been almost 2 weeks since I have lost anything. I am using a food tracking ap and I am between 800-900 calories a day. Trying to push it up to 1000 - 1200 if I can. I feel better, my mom and boyfriend say my face looks thinner, but no scale movement. Frustrating.

    Weight loss

I had RNY in 2010. I lost nothing for the first 8 days. It was almost comical since I was barely getting anything in. On day 9, I dropped 7 lbs. I had a revision 2 weeks ago. I lost 5 lbs the first week, nothing for the past 5 days. I have learned not to sweat the scale too much. I’m feeling leaner, and I know as long as I keep it up, it will come off.

    Well intentioned compliments

I hate comments on my weight. It makes me so self conscious to know how much people are looking at my body. I have said this on some Facebook groups and I always get people who say “people better compliment me on my weight loss! I worked hard for this!!!” I just don’t feel that way.
  4. I’m almost 2 weeks out. At 3 days out I was miserable. By 5 days I felt fine.
  5. My surgery was 12/13. I am still on liquids until next Monday. I was initially king of bummed that I would be on liquids through the holidays but now I see the blessing it has been. My office has chocolate everywhere. We had chicken wings for lunch and I came home to a house smelling of sugar cookies from my family baking all day. If I was not confined to liquids, I know there would be a lot of “tastes” that would add up to a lot of calories.

    Post op pain

I took maters into my own hands last night - I had some norco in the house from a previous orthopedic surgery. I took one of them and split it in half, taking each half 15 minutes apart. It helped a lot. So far I have kept 1oz protein down for an hour. Taking it slow. Thanks for all the support.
  7. Surgery was Monday 12/13. Today is Wednesday 12/15. I feel like I got hit by a truck. I had a hiatal hernia repair and tightening of my pouch and stoma. I can’t keep anything thicker than water down and that includes liquid pain medication. I did not have this problem first time around. Is it just swelling or did he make it too small?

    Any December 2021 bypass people?

Thanks, I remember that I lost nothing for a full week after my original surgery, so I’m good.

Those of you who were last week - how has your recovery been? My surgery is tomorrow and I’m hoping to go back to work Monday the 20th.
  10. Surgery 12/13. Starting my pre op diet Monday. Going out for pizza Sunday.
  11. I had my original RNY in 2010. Lost 120 lbs. In the past 12 years I have had a baby, my parents moved in with me and my weak ankle and flat foot got progressively worse until I was limited to swimming and yoga for exercise. I gained 60 lbs back and my gastric reflex was getting bad. I had an upper GI and found 1. Hiatal hernia (rare for RNY) and my pouch was 3x the size my surgeon would like and my stomach 2x. He said that it is partially due to stretching and partially that my original surgeon made it bigger than he would have in the first place. Revision in 3 weeks. I’m a little nervous because last time I was able to lay around on the couch for 3 weeks post op and “eat” all my “meals” alone. Now I have a very active 7 year old and a family that likes to have family dinners together. Any other RNY to RNY revisions?

    Serious sore throat from intubation?

I had foot surgery in Feb and it was really bad. I’m hoping to have a more skilled anesthesiologist this time! (Surgery in 3 weeks)

    Little struggles

What changes do you find difficult? For me, it’s not drinking with food and not drinking from straws. My mouth feels so dry and gross if I don’t was down my food and I always used a straw at work. 😕

I am having a RNY revision on Dec 13. I had my first RNY in 2010, lost about 130 lbs. I’ve gained about 40 back and have developed a hiatal hernia, so I’m getting the hernia repair and he will be further reducing my pouch and tightening my stoma.
