i'm still trying to get used to this fill...i'm set up at a craft show and had to have something for breakfast (since it was such an early morning start) and my cereal bar almost didn't go down. i think i'm going to stuggle today to just eat what i brought and make sure that is all goes down. but unofficially (since i only record my weight on wednesday's) i think i'm down another 5 pounds...so this is worth it...under 300 here i come!!! :bolt:
-
i know that feeling...i got on the scale this morning too!! i'm down 4 pounds...of water! LOL that's interesting though...cuz i can feel the restriction and in fact had my first episode of the food not wanting to go all the way down and it coming back up...if you catch my drift. it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be...but i certainly don't want to do it again anytime soon...so super tiny bites that are chewed more times that you have to. LOL take care all!!

yep...like the old saying goes, "you didn't put the weight on all at once, so you can't take it all off at once." it still sucks! :wink2: but at least we have each other to talk to!!!! :tongue2:

Ladies----->birth control question
thetvgeneral replied to liquidbluegal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
this is interesting. i get the depo shot every three months. in fact i got my last shot a week or so before surgery...no one said a word. good luck!! -
got my first fill yesterday...soft food today...and the jury is out if the 2 cc's he put in is too much...he didn't think so...but man i feel everything i eat and drink. good thing my doc is at the hospital i work at...so if i'm not feeling ok tomorrow...i know where i'm heading first thing. he only stuck me once with the needle but it took him a couple of tries to hit my port...but all in all not a bad experience. keep up the great work everyone!!
-
had my first fill yesterday...2 cc's. and so far...so good. but man can i feel everything i'm drinking going down. it's making me a little nervous to eat soft food today. i too haven't lost anything...in fact since my last doctor's appointment about three weeks or so ago...i had actually gained half a pound. so yikes! i really hope this helps some. i was getting tired of feeling hungry and feeling like i could eat anything i wanted. we're on the road...there will just be some speed bumps and tolls along the way...but we'll all get to our destinations!! i know we will!!! :crying:

just got my first fill today! goodness! he put in 2 cc's...and i'm trying to drink my dinner shake. can you say...wow! i feel like i did right after surgery. i feel everything i'm drinking as it goes down...talk about restriction! wonder how i'm going to feel tomorrow when i start back on mushies again. i wasn't numbed before he stuck me with the needle and he did have a little bit of a problem finding the port but it wasn't so bad. woo hoo!!! let's keep it going!!

Hi--- I possibly have a strange pain question. I'm a little more than a month post-op and my doctor has had me off of my acid reflux meds since a week after surgery. For the past four days, I've been woken up (around 3am or 4am) by an uncomfortable feeling in the middle of my chest that makes it feel funny to breathe. If I get up, walk around and take a few deep breaths, it goes away and I can lay back down. Now I did call the doctor's office after the first night fearing that something was horribly wrong. The answer I got was, well, did you eat something too late? did you have any caffeine before going to bed? Are you drinking too fast? I couldn't honestly answer (how sad that I couldn't remember the caffeine but I had eaten dinner at 7:30pm). But I know for a fact the past few nights I've eaten early and didn't have any caffeine and I'm still having the issue. In fact I had it tonight while I was taking a test during class. So I think I've eliminated all of his thoughts. Could my reflux be back and when it comes back up and hits the band I get the pain? Is this gas?? Has anyone else had any problems like this?? Any insight is greatly appreciated!! Sorry this is so long!!!

What are you doing when you hit goal?
thetvgeneral replied to gilta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
you know... i hadn't really thought about it. hmmm...i'd love to fly out and see my friend who moved to charlotte, nc but i've always avoided flying. maybe that will be my goal... -
well...i called the office again and the nurse went through the questions to which i replied that i'm not doing anything to cause this. she told me to follow up with my family doc...which i'm ironically doing this coming monday...to see if he thinks i should start back on my acid reflux meds. oh well only a couple more nights of this at the very least. but she did suggest i try chewing some tums or something and that might give me an answer. but thanks again!!! and maybe this will help someone else out. i've gotten so many tips and tricks from being here!
-
thanks guys! that's what i thought...geesh it will be just my luck!
-
i'm so happy for you! and glad that it was painless. i was supposed to go next wednesday...but real life is seriously intervening as i will be working day and night all next week to get ready for three crafts shows that run on three consecutive weekends starting sept. 20th. and i'm the world's worst procrastinator...LOL i mean, geesh, i was working up until i had surgery on aug. 5th! the nurse had to tell my dad to take my pda/phone away from me! LOL so i'm scheduled for aug. 24th...i just keep telling myself to eat slow and focus on the task at hand. please let us know how it goes!
-
yes...i can't wait to hear either. i can also tell that i'm able to eat more and am hungry! don't want to ruin what i've done so far.
-
you should so post your picture of the cup tower!!!! i'm working towards my associates degree in network administration and hope to turn that into a BS one day... yep computers are BS!! and please don't try to brush or floss the cats teeth. it will be so much more trouble than it's really worth! i can't even touch one of my cats' face or she freaks out!! take care!!!
-
OMG your post was just what i needed tonight! i love your wicked sense of humor!! tonight was a bad night...super bad headache...stupid classes that run right after work into the late evening...no way to puree a cow at 9pm. thanks for posting!! i too agree that it's wonderful having a group of people that really understand what we're all going through. hope to see you around the board!
-
i wouldn't say that recovery was harder...it was just a little more painful. but you can do it!!
-
i've been thinking the exact same thing!
-
good for you!!!
-
yep i had no clue! got to see the pictures. but i was on medicine for my acid reflux. and had no trouble as long as i took it. guess the old family doc should have done some tests instead of just writing a prescription. the doc that did my surgery said that he's had a few that were too big and he couldn't do the banding at the time and could only take care of the hernia. so i'm glad mine wasn't that big. so i have to ask...did it seem to make your recovery time a bit longer? i know i took pain pills until that saturday (i was banded on a tuesday). and even after i went back to work...i had problems bending at the waist and even just moving from one side to the other when i did simple things like answering the phone at my desk. happy to say...it's all good now!!
