Ok, I am on the 2 week preop liquid diet. I am sweating to death. Is this normal? Help. Drinking tons of water! I have the ac on and it's only 65 degrees outside.

My husband is strugglin with this too. He is worried, because we like to go out to eat. I've been trying to watch what I eat for the last few months, to show him somewhat how it will be. He is very supportive, which it seems like you are too. Best of luck to you and your honey. You guys will get through it.

My doc said 5lb weight limit for 6 weeks. They are very strict about it. I have a 40lb 4 year old. I can't pick her up for at least that long. They said it was ok for her to climb up in my lap and snuggle though. good luck, Kelli

To tell or not to tell????
kjhack replied to kjhack's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
AWWW Thanks so much for all this support. When I wrote this post last night, I was still crying. I know I want this and I know I want to do this. My mom says she'll be supportive, "I am just scared for you". I've tried explaining to her that it outpatient/laproscopic and to look in lapband.com for more information. Now she wants to know if she can come up the day of the surgery. My hubby says he thinks she would only make me more nervous. What do you all think? Thanks again Lapbandtalk family. Kelli -
Thanks for all you help. I did go get the chewables today. (-:

Been there, not fun. I had an allergic reaction to Avelox an antibiotic. Thank gosh not to your severity. I did have the hives all over and swelling. Thank goodness, mine went down after about 48-72 hours. I will say a prayer that yours goes away quickly. Kelli

Pre-Op eating behaviors vs. Post-Op eating behaviors
kjhack replied to Lauren448's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Jodi for your advice. I am right there with you, Lauren. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. I am doing better at avoiding carbs, but it is hard. It has been a life long obsession for carbs and sweets for me. Good luck to you Lauren. -
I'm right there with you! My surgery date is the 22nd. I start pre-op diet on Wednesday. I am getting a wee bit nervous too, but I am also so excited to make this big positive change in my life. Keep in touch, so we have a buddy close to the same day. Kelli

Our dietician recommended 70-90g for the first 6 weeks. Then you can alter it to fit your specific needs then. Not sure how much after first six weeks. I'm sure with eggs and meats you are getting close to that. I hope.... Good luck.

Just went for my nutrition class, they recommended unjury and a product by Syntax called Nectar. I was able to find Nectar at Vitaminshoppe.com. It is on sale this week. I've heard they taste good, not sure havent tried them yet. I have to start the 2 week preop diet next week. Thanks for this thread it is nice to know others have good ideas too. Kelli

I totally understand! I work for a doctors office and there is no one to cover for me the week after my surgery. I put my foot down! I am taking the week after my surgery off!!!! My health is too important to pop back into work and get to feeling bad. You try so hard to get approved for this. 1 year I've been working on this! I am doing it! Cover person or no cover person! Stick to your guns!!!!!!

I had mine today! It was quick and painless. I had an upset tummy the rest of the day, but I kept drinking water and tea and it finally got all the barium out. Don't be surprised if you have a few loose stools after. I know TMI, but its true! Good luck, just remember it is all part of the journey. kelli
