Hey Sarge, reporting in late as usual, no loss again this week. However I did just get my first fill this week. Had to travel a little bit but really liked the Dr., Dr. Garwood in College Station, Tx....I don't know if I'm restricted or not since I'm back only on fluids, but hopefully I'll find out soon. I am exercising way more regularly. (okay, okay, Telly is motivating me to get off my @ss!!!, thanks Telly!) Soooo, here's to next weeks numbers!

Last supper, lunch, breakfast, snacks and...
oneflew replied to diva's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Diva, I'm still pretty new to being banded, but I had some of what you're experiencing. I go for my first fill next tuesday and I'm having the same thoughts. I have a little restriction now, but not much, and not all the time, and I think wow, after next tuesday I won't be able to eat any of this, or that, or maybe just a bite, and I feel a little anxious about it. I think all of my issues with weight have been mental issues. I'm trying to overcome them one at a time. I finish stuff off because somewhere I think I will never get to eat it again. go figure. Even if I've had a pizza night once a week for over 10 years, it's like I'll never get that opportunity. lol. Sometimes just the thought of never having something again, gets me almost panicked. It's a big mental battle. You're not alone!!! Try to understand, that getting banded won't be the end of those thoughts. Hopefully with the band as a tool you will have some support. Good luck! Sam -
Hey Telly, sorry I'm late, I kept hoping the scale would change. lol No change. sam
-
Hey Sarge, disappointing, but no scale movement. Will need to get going more.

Hey guys, I haven't had a fill, and haven't been doing alot of physical activity like scrunches, (just walking) but have noticed an ache in the area where my port is. I didn't really have much of this immediately after surgery and am now 4 wks out. It is not a sharp pain, kind of more like a muscle ache, but it makes me wonder if I've unattached it in some way? I go in for my first fill in a couple of weeks so I know I'll have the doc check then, but just wondered if I should feel concern. Thanks for the help! sam

Geesh, sounds like something that would have happened to me. Ya know, most things start to go as we age, but you have to keep your sense of humor. LOL. Hang in there! sam -
What to do? Delay... or chance it...
oneflew replied to oreilly76's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I can certain appreciate your excitement! I guess it would depend on which country and how well they'd be prepared for an emergency. You will probably be fine, but it's that 'what if' that is the kicker for me. I'd have to ask your doc what he/she recommends. Good luck on your decision and congrats on your upcoming band! -
Hey Telly, Just saw this thread. I'm in like flyn for this weekend! sam
-
That's funny, Kim. When I saw your do do do do, I immediately thought JAWS. Not sure why? lol....Anyway, I guess this is normal, although, I would have understood it more if I was actually doing some ab work. I think I need to try the heating pad, I just have never taken it out, even after surgery. I'm pretty stuborn! Maybe it'll be like arthritis, and we'll be able to predict a change in the weather every time our ports hurt we'll say, "feels like rain coming on." lol

Thanks Audra and Leener. That makes me feel a little better. Well not better. lol. but better that I'm not in this boat by myself! Thanks again, sam

I need a personal assistant to manage my leftovers!
oneflew replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Sunta, I know what you mean. My mentality is to make lots...Doesn't matter what it is. For a family of four, one tray of lasagna should work, but I end up making 4?????????? Crazy. It's the same with enchiladas, my specialty is chicken enchiladas with green chile sour cream souce. yummy. But now I can only eat a few bites of most things. It's time to par down everything. Especially since I've realized my desire to cook for an army is harming my whole family. The more food there is the more everyone eats, which is not so good for my kids. Who wants them to struggle like I have??? So I'm start to learn that the best offense is a good defense. Make less, eat less, throw away less.....weigh less.... Good luck with your struggle, I think most have us are going through it! -
Congrats Emily! To me it doesn't matter the size of the goal. You set a goal and you made it. Keep that up. My confidence builds everytime I set a goal. It can be as simple as getting my taxes in on time. (that was a fun one, lol) You're doing great! sam

Hey Melody, I think we're all in the same boat. The last couple of weeks have been 1-2 lb losses, and I'm disappointed. But then I think, hey, before the band, I would have been way happy that I was doing anything besides gaining. lol. I go for my first fill on 051606. I'm nervous about that also. Kind of anxious and excited all at the same time. We'll make it! Take care, sam
-
Great Loss Melody, Glad you found us! Keep up the good work. I definitely need a more regulary walk schedule. take care, sam

Hey Sarge, I'm reporting in a little earlier, since I lost track of days and reported late last week. :eekB: I have a -1.5 lb loss. woohoo! I had been getting a little depressed as I was holding a little water at that time of the month and it looks like I lost that. I still have been a little erratic about my exercise, but I'm recommitting myself.

Mary, kudos to you, girl! You do look so great and you look like a blast to hang out with! Many pats on the back to you!!!

Banjanor hosp. /DR Alessandri ? HELP
oneflew replied to zoey's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I was recently banded at Bajanor hospital on 033106. I have not had any complications from the surgery. I went done on Friday the 31st, early flight and had surgery that evening, stayed the night at the Lucerna on Saturday night and flew back Sunday to Texas. I went back to work on Tuesday. If you have any questions, just PM. Good Luck! sam -
Hey Lisa, Good luck on the running. It is my all time favorite. I've found I only get shin splints, when I've over-trained, and not given enough rest in between my running times. Ice is best, imo, and then if you're only giving 1 day in between runs, then you may need to increase that to 2, or 3. Keep up the good work! sam

Hey Sarge, Reportin in 1 lb loss. Whoopee!

Way to go, Susan. It's a little early for me to start shopping, but I can't wait! I remember how good it felt to be shrinking! Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!! sam
