    Is dating a thing anymore?

Beautiful pic! That guy sounds like someone not worth your time. There are plenty of compassionate people out there looking for kindness too. I'm just 5 weeks post op and dating in general is an unkind world. If I was on a date with someone who made a comment like that, I'd reply by asking how they overcame one of their life's biggest battles and if it was easy for them? If I felt uncomfortable enough, I may just tell them this wouldn't work out and excuse myself. You're not there to please and bend to them. You're your own person and trying to find your significant other who cares about you. Maybe they apologize, maybe they don't. I hope this helps. It's easier giving advice than listening to my own so I totally understand how you feel and you're not alone. I'm trying to remind myself I'm not in a hurry. Good luck!

    Regret and Depression

I'm sorry you're feeling some blues. I've experienced just a little. I have more anger about not being able to gulp water or drink and eat now.. I agree with others that our hormones are trying to regulate again and it is ALWAYS worth talking to your care team or professional. I don't know if this helps at all but I've been open to friends and coworkers why I have been out or MIA. The support and optimism from them has been really surprising! I assumed the stigma behind WLS would have more negativity. I know not all have the same experience but having encouragement from the most random coworkers has been really nice and helped me to solidify this decision and continue to share. I'm at the end of 3rd week post op. I post once or twice a week in my Facebook to give a post op update. After all, friends and family are nosy 🙂 but it's easier than the texts asking how I am. I have not shared any photos yet. I'm wanting to see more change before I do that. I wish you luck! I'm thankful you shared with us. We're all in this together!

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Yes. I think it's leftover from intubation. It took a good week for my sinuses to feel normal. The blood thinners don't help a nose bleed either. If it's a chronic issue post op, let your support team know.

    3 Weeks Post Op

Thank you! Everything does taste bleh for sure. I tried my unsweetened almond milk and it's bearable. I'm sure I will find some other things that are not upsetting. It just felt like it was sudden. So I do think I had a bug and now I'm being overly cautious.
  5. Hi all, How did everyone feel their 3rd week post op? How soon did people get back to work, part time or full time? I tried going back to work this wee after 2 weeks off. I could barely last half a day and one day was very ill and didn't clock in at all. I don't know if I caught a stomach bug from one of my family members or if I tried something that triggered it. Also, all week my mouth tastes metallic. I thought maybe it was ketosis until I was sick for a day. I had a LOT of acid. I was really surprised at what I had to come up for the low amount of liquid and food I'm getting. My water intake this week has been terrible and I think it's the taste in my mouth just making me uninterested. I'm on Pepcid Complete and started taking a broken up Nexium. I also have 2 tums a few times a day but not a fan because I don't want to cause kidney stones. I had a low fever the day I wasn't able to keep much down. No pain other than where I know stitches are. Wondering if this is common or an issue. Trying to avoid the... "I tried something I shouldn't have" convo with the doctors office. Thank you!
  6. Met with my post op team yesterday and they've set me back on the right path. I've been pushing the limits way too much. It's so hard.

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Rocking forward and back like a rocking chair or even in a rocking chair can help. Also, gasx. I promise, it will go away!
  8. Hi there, I'm 2 weeks out from surgery and almost 20 lbs down. At the current rate, which will taper off, I will need some lounge wear in smaller sizes. I think that'll be easy to find. However, I'm allergic to Lycra fabric. I think it's got something related to latex in it. Anyway, some shape wear is made of Lycra. Lycra or not, as others may be curious, can anyone provide brands, cuts they like and maybe how often they've needed to change sizes? I'm 36 Female but please feel free any gender, again, others may be curious too. Thanks so much!
  9. I'm 2 weeks out tomorrow. I've been terrible this 2nd week by trying things I'm technically not supposed to be ready for. I am in the same boat but not concerned about leaks but prolonging some of the healing and pain. I'm just sick of all the sweet crap. If you're hungry, eat but like others have stated, talk to you dietician and take it easy. I've already learned that even 1 piece of dark chocolate will cause dumping. I've now got sugar free as an option but am being very careful. As I said, everything seems sweet and I'm bored with it. My goals are still the liquid intake but I've tried scrambled eggs and fried eggs... well egg. A single egg is even hard to finish, but there's no time limit or anyone saying I have to finish it. Try adding some flavorless protein powder to a yogurt. It may satisfy and get you some protein. It was a lifesaver during preop. Bone broth too. I put a baggie over it and put it back in the fridge if I can't finish it. Try to remember that our previous portion size is gone. Getting a smaller bowl or plate out can help. I read that and agree. Once you put a single egg on a dinner plate, you feel like it will not be enough. A salad plate or bread plate visually looks like more. I hope this is helpful or encouraging. I'm super new to all of this too. Good luck!!

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

I think it's good to do the pros and cons. I just had surgery a week ago and I'm hungry mentally but my body is in ketosis. I'm not very hungry from my stomach telling me. I'm definitely still healing and know it could change. I don't like veggies either. I'm going to be trying an Atkins/keto diet once I'm able to eat some normal things. Idk if I'll be able to binge again. I can see myself trying but depending on the surgery, it's for life. I'll just be uncomfortable but my weight will be in a healthier place. 37 yr in Kansas. Started journey at 320, 6 months preoperative diet for insurance, surgery was 10/6 and I'm at 276.

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

I had the BPD-DS on October 6th. So far, so good. I think my weigh in on surgery date was 293. Today, I weighed in at 276. It's hard for me to notice the physical changes because I feel like a bum and have been wearing lounge clothes. I thought I noticed some changes in my jawline this AM but not sure. I am struggling to stay interested in the week 2 diet. I think I'm getting between 48 oz and 64 oz of liquids.
