    Pregnancy with Lap Band??

Hello, I have been banded for two years and have a oneyear old. It was four months post-op before finding out we were expecting. MyDr. told me they encourage women who are trying to have children, to do so at ahealthier weight and/or a year after surgery. My little one, was a surprise:)...the only thing I suggest is getting an un-fill for the band so you areable to eat (once that baby starts getting bigger, she bumps your tummy and youhave 0 room to eat anything.) Also, there will be a good amount of port discomfortas your abdomen stretches towards the last few months of pregnancy, since theport is attached to the abdominal wall. She is probobly curious about weight gain during pregnancy, I maintained the entire time, fluxuating 5 lbs at most. If you or your Wife have any more questions, feel free to message me! Good luck and take care! Stephanie

  11. I have a few questions for anyone who has any input or the answers!! :/ I'm in my 3rd month of pregnancy, I am unable to get down any Proteins without throw it up however, nothing ever comes up, anyone who has the band, and have thrown up before, is this normal? The last time I threw up, all that came up was sort of a mucusy type stuff, it was very confusing. Anyone have any Protein ideas? Thanks for your time, Stephanie
  12. Sounds like you're just searching for the answer you want :tongue2: he he just kidding. I can tell you, that I was banded 4/16/09 and am currently 9 weeks pregnant. It wasn't planned, but the Dr. said all should be fine, I've dropped 60 lbs since January and am at a healthier weight. I'd still talk to your Dr, but mine said all is well. I will need an unfill later in pregnancy though to make sure the baby is getting attequate caloric intake. Good luck!

just keep in mind, I read that when you're preggers you get tighter, a lot of people found out they are pregnant just by the band tightness in the AM (or PM). Hope all is well! No regrets! Good luck

  20. Hi, I was banded on 4/16. I just want to tell you, you're not really supposed to be dieting, just make sure you stop eating when satisfied and nothing that will get stuck. 1 fill is not going to give you your "sweet spot" restriction but usually the first fill is the largest so you'll need to take it easy. I just had my 2nd fill last week and I am already almost to my sweet spot, probobly 1 or 2 more and I'll be set for a while. Generally 1 cup of food (calculated as if it were chewed up) should keep you full 3-4 hours. I'm at about 3 hrs right now, waiting 1 hr before and after to drink anything. I hope this helps and am always available if you ever wanna talk or have questions. Good luck! You'll be fine! plus I'm such a baby when it comes to needles and pain, I hardly felt a thing!
  21. make sure your getting enough Protein, I agree Water as well. My Husband is a personal trainer and says on top of your regular 8 8oz of water a day, for every 25 lbs you are over your ideal weight you should drink another 8 oz glass of water. Hit me back if you need anything! I can always ask the Hubby!! <3 Steph
  22. Hi Everyone, Hope all of your bands are doing well!! I was wondering if anyone else experiences nightly or frequant evening band tightness. Also, does Alcohol burn anyone's band? Anytime I sip Alcohol it burns right where the band is. Anyone have good drink ideas that aren't carbonated? Hard A and juices from now on? Anyone have any good meal ideas? I'm getting bored with chicken. Anyone have any tips let me know Thanks you guys! Good luck everyone!
