    Hello, This will be my 2nd yr of fasting with the band. The 1st was easy as I didn't have a fill. This yr. I will eat a normal dinner whatever I cook but in smaller portions. In the morning I am going to make protein shakes and I also bought some protein shots from Wall Mart. I usually didn't wake up in the morning but I know I need as much protein as I can get.

    Hello everyone, Glad to have a Muslim posting. I did very well last Ramadan. I was banded in July and fasting was a month away. My doctor didn't like the idea of fasting but a lot of them don't understand it. You can try fasting and if it doesn't agree with you don't continue. I am going for another fill on the 23rd of this month. I had on but they had to let some out as I could not eat or drink. I drink the protein called unjury. It tastes very good. I also take chewable vitamins for calcium and multivitamins. I wish you all good luck for fasting this year as the days will be long.

    Hello everyone, My name is Jean and I am an American Muslim. I have been banded for almost one year and lost about 60 lbs. Its been slow at times. I had a hernia operation in Dec. and my hubby was sick and I went off track. I am going to get another fill in 2 weeks. I fasted last Ramadan with no problems. I bought some high protein shots I found in Walmart. This year I will have one of them in the morning and eat a lot of protein to break the fast at night. Always make sure you get up before sun rise as close to the stop eating time as possible.:cursing:

    Hello everyone, I finally can drink normal again. I am feeling dizzy but I think I am not getting enough protein. I will call Dr. tomorrow. Also my throat and ears are bothering me. I am going to start and try and drink more protein today. I drank 60mg so I will try 80 to 100 a day and see if that helps. I am just so HAPPY I can drink. LOL:thumbup:
  12. Hello everyone. I was banded on Monday 7/21. When I woke up I had this awful pressure on my chest.When I tried to walk it went to my neck and was hard to breathe. It is a little better now after 2 1/2 days. I was so sick I could not drink cause it made me gag and get the sweats. I did much better today I got down 2 protein shakes and 8ozs of propel water. I am also sleeping all the time. I am glad I did this and hoping it gets better as time goes by.

    Thanks for the info. I am still having some problems. I still can't drink as much as the want me to. It was a real bad night for me. When I drink I get real full and than if I move to fast that's the end. I start to gag and get the sweats and it didn't go away till the morning. Almost called the doctor but finally fell asleep. I am better now but I think I will chew on ice chips for awhile.

    Thanks to giving me some confidence. I found a rotein drink that tastes good. Its called Unjury. I want to find some protein bars for later on that taste good. Ant suggestions?
  15. Hello everyone! My lapband surgery is scheduled for 7/21. I am getting a little nervous about whats to come and the diet part. I know I can make it the 3 weeks liquid part. I am nervous about the food part and will I be getting enough proteins and vitamins. Does everyone feel the same in the beginning? I thought long and hard about this and I know its the right thing to do for myself. I need to get healthier and to be able to do for myself without depending on my kids to help with the laundry and house cleaning. I hate exercise but know I have to start somewhere so I will start walking on my lunchtime. Wish me luck.:biggrin2:
