Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I LOVE this support group!! Thank you, everyone, for all the encouragement and great tips. I got my band 9 days ago and I am still drinking protien shakes (with a little soup in between). I think that I've lost 8-9 pounds so far.......... I go walking everyday for at least 20 minutes (more when I have the time). It really helped with the gas right after surgery. Looking forward to being able to get back into a regular exercise routine. I used to go to CURVES at least 3 times a week. I am interested in finding out more about what you are allowed to eat when you get back to solid foods. I read that you don't really lose until then. Is that true? Also- Is there a local support group that meets on a regular basis for lap-banders? I live in Hammond, LA. Later, band-mates!!

    1st Fill July 29 - Any Advice?

I got banded on July 18, 2008 so am only 8 days post-op. Still experience a little soreness around the port incision and having a tough time getting my energy level back to normal. All in all I have to say that it has not been too bad so far. Trying to get enough protein in each day is my biggest challenge and I am NEVER hungry. It's amazing! Won't be going in for a fill until August 23. I think I will be ready by then?

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

and it's so GREAT to see that there is a place to go and talk to "fellow-bandees". After reading some of the postings, I have a question........ what does PB stand for? I'm guessin it has to do with regurgitation, but have never heard the term before. I am so excited to begin this awesome journey. At 57 years old, I have yo-yo'd with my weight all of my life. Now, I am looking forward to much better health and longer life with the lap-band. It's going to be a whole new way of life for me!! Please say a prayer and wish me good luck, too! Thank you!!
