    Stretched Pouch and unfill?

Hey! I have never heard of stretching your pouch. Why do they think that you have? When were you banded? How many cc's do you have in your band? I have 5 1/2cc's in my 10cc band. I have little restriction if any. I am not worried about it because my dietition says that it may take another fill before I get there. I know that it isn't much help but I really wouldn't worry about it. You will see people that have been banded for a year and haven't lost much more than what you have already lost. Good luck! We share the same birthday! Anjanette

    Serious Second Thoughts

I hope that you will talk to your Dr or nutritionalist. They will help you with your decision and will help you through the cravings. You need to up your protein if you are thinking about eating. My dietition says that you need to eat at least 70 grams of protein per day, that is through shakes and food. If you are not sure how successful you will be with the band ask about other weight loss procedures. The sleve is the next procedure that is not as dramatic as a gastric bypass. Do some research on that and if you like that, call your Dr and talk with him about doing that unstead of the LapBand. This is a tool, it will not keep you away from the foods that we all love, but at least you can't eat as much as you would have! It is natural to feel this way and it is totally natural to eat things that are not on your "diet". Remember you are not on a "diet" you are making better food choices. Good luck!

    I want to give up

Well I have to say that I too have been in this situation. I don't think that you need to put yourself on a diet though. If you eat something that you think "you're not supposed to eat" you will set yourself up for failure. I talk to my dietition all of the time and she says not to "diet" just keep your cal at 1200 per day. I have been keeping up with my cals since the 7th of Jan. You can go back and see how much you ate and find out where you need to cut back. This is a diet change but if you would just limit your intake of your favorite foods you will do just as well. Also like everyone else said, it is time for a fill. You may not get to your sweet spot until your 3rd of 4th fill. Call your Dr and get another appt. Good luck to you!

    Anyone hungry????

First I want to say that I don't like the layout of this page!!! It is too hard to find anything now!!! Now, I was just wondering if anyone is hungry while they are on stage 2? I had my band done on Oct. 30th. When I went for my one week check up my Dr asked me if I was hungry and I told him yes, then he asked me if it was just head hunger....hello? I am sure that he is eating more than 2 medicine cups full at a time! I feel as if my stomach is sucking on my backbone! I don't get my first fill until the 11th of Dec. I don't know how much more I can take! I hate this because I have 2 children and a husband that eat food, real food, 3 times a day. It is pure torture! I can't eat mushie foods until next Tuesday! I was just wondering if anyone else out there was feeling my pain?
  15. Well I was supposed to start tomorrow but I started Wednesday. I was out of town and I asked my dietition if I could. She said okay but to go back on full liquids when I got back, I never went back. My stomach is doing great! It sure feels better to eat!

  16. Girl how are you doing? I am sooooo hungry! I hope that you are doing well! I get to start on soft foods next week and I can't wait!

  17. How are you doing?

  18. You have a beautiful talent!

  19. Is there anyone out there that lives near or in the Timmonsville / Florence area that is banded or will be getting banded?
  20. My name is Anjanette and I am getting banded on the 29th also!! You are so lucky to only have to do a 2 wk pre op diet. I am doing 2 protein shakes a day 16oz each with 2 scoops of 100% whey in it, and eating one meal a day, one protein bar and one fruit. You do need to call your Dr about what type of pre op diet you should be on though!

    UHC Approvals in texas

I have UHC in SC. You need to have a letter of medical necessity along with your 5 yr history. Your PCP should be able to do this for you. If not you can use your OBGYN since you go there once a year. My first surgeon had a sample of the letter with the info packet so I gave it to my PCP. I changed surgeons and my new surgeon said that they write the letter and send it to UHC for you. I still gave them the letter that my PCP wrote up. It never hurts to have more info than needed. I started my journey in the middle of July and got approval from UHC in the middle of Sept. My surgery date is Oct 29th. The good thing is that you don't have to do a 6 month pre op diet! We are very lucky! UHC pays for everything when you are approved. You may have to go do a sleep apnea test, upper GI, EGD, and you will deffniately have blood drawn. Depending on your UHC plan these tests are all covered except the co-pay! Good luck!
  22. My name is Anjanette and I am getting banded on the 29th I was just wanting to meet other people that are going to be banded on the same day to tell stories and goings on. I hope to hear from you!

  23. Hey fellow 29ther! I just requested you as a friend. I hope that we can share info and stories! How are you doing? My name is Anjanette and I am living in South Carolina. I hope to hear from you in the future!

  24. Maybe you should go to a different Dr and get another opinion. I had to go to a different city from the Dr that I went to before. I am glad that I went to another Dr and siminar. The 2nd Drs practice had done 750 bands last year compared to 200 that the 1st Dr did. It made me feel better and made me feel like I had made the right decision. Good Luck!!
  25. I was worried about the same thing. I am on the pre-op diet now and just thinking ahead about the protein. I was thinking about the unflavored protein also. Good luck I will be joining you in about 2 weeks in that adventure!
