    Hello Hello!

I'm a little late, but I made it. My name is Melissa, 27 years old, living in Atlanta Georgia. I got my lap band on February 12 2008. After years and years of yo-yo dieting, and my mom and and having horrible health problems, I decided to get a band and lose the weight. I've only lost 23 pounds so far, but it was 4 months before I got my first fill. I just got my second fill and realized that no, I didn't stretch my stomach above the band. Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you all, and I can't wait to talk to you. Melissa

    Hello Hello!

I started off about 253, just weighed myself at work and now I'm 219. Woohoo! My goal is about 140-150. Melissa

    Help quit smoking pre op

Actually, there's another reason they don't want you to smoke. The nicotine contricts your blood vessels, decreasing the amount of blood circulating to your extremities and to your wounds. Smoking prolongs healing time and recovery. Remember, Patches have nicotine in them too. Melissa

    2nd Fill woes-Too Tight!!!

Hey there! I got my band in February. A colleague of my surgeon's did my first fill. (And no, he didn't know my band size either) So to err on the side of caution, he put a little less in. I knew I'd need another fill, but the bad side of me wanted to keep eating a little more. On my third fill, my surgeon added 3cc's and made me drink some Water. I could feel it stuck right away, so with no questions he took out one cc. I could swallow the water fine. HOWEVER. I ate baby food the first day, and tried some mashed potatos today....... I am still PBing. I can feel it when the food pops out of place, then back in and MAN it hurts. YOU know when something isn't right, and I'm glad you went back. If I can't handle this, I know my doc would see me right away no problems. Good luck!
