SleeverSk got a reaction from fourmonthspreop in Stall out and depressed
Muscle weighs heavy than fat so with your heavy exercise maybe you have gained muscle mass and still lost fat but the scales remain the same. hence jeans that didn't fit at 235 now fit at 250, muscle takes up less space than fat but weighs more if that makes sense?

SleeverSk reacted to fourmonthspreop in Stall out and depressed
I know this is posted on here time and time again but I'm so frustrated. I'm getting ready for a cross country move. I really imagined that by this time I'd be in the 230s. I have stalled out for the last 3 or 4 weeks and am so frustrated about it. I keep going in between 248 and 251. I don't know if this is maintenance because im only a bit over 4 months post op from gastric bypass. I have definitely increased my calories but am eating in a deficit. My BMR is around 1900 and I'm eating in between 1000 and 1300 a day plus exercise. I have been slacking in Water and have not been having Protein Shakes at all because I'm getting a decent amount through solid food and don't want the extra cals.
How do I get past this? I'm going to stay off the scale until the end of next week but I'm still feeling really down and bad about myself. I feel like a disgusting fat mess honestly. I haven't had these feelings since pre op and I just need to vent about it. I was experiencing a period of mania a week ago for a good 2 weeks straight (I'm bipolar) and missed some of my meds. I think I might be crashing and going through a depressive state. It's not super bad but the weight loss stall is making me have a lot of negative self image and feelings of failure.
Should I just get back on liquids for a week or something? I'm losing my mind and getting depressed as hell. I'm taking my meds regularly again. I really only missed like 3 or 4 days and I take a small dosage. So I'm hoping to even back out soon but the stall is messing with my brain and confidence.
What do you do?

The first few weeks are brutal, especially the parts that are all liquid. You'll get through it. But maybe try drinking warm broth (bone broth has more Protein than regular broth), Soups, etc. They're warm, which can make things easier, and can also help you get your protein in.

SleeverSk got a reaction from You Are My Sunshine in I'm sad VERY SAD!
You will be fine, I was a mess after my surgery I was convinced I would NEVER eat or drink normally again. How wrong I was. It took me until the 4 month to finally start feeling better, I cried multiple times a day I couldn't go to work I was a mess. I beat myself up for having the surgery it was awful. Keep in mind your hormones are all over the place and you are most likely grieving your old way of eating and drinking and worried about the unknown.. I am here at 11 months out and I can tell you you will feel better, you will feel amazing when you are shopping for new clothes, can walk up a hill without feeling like you are not going to make it, paint your toes nails easily so many things to look forward too. AND you will be able to have that beef stew and a Martini 😆

Omg you sound exactly like I did, DID being the important word here. You are going through a grieving process and denial in one of the stages. Don't drink any more alcohol until later down the track. How soon after eating did you drink ? Maybe you didn't wait long enough. Sorry to hear you quit your job was that because of how you are feeling now? I would get some counselling asap it's not an Instant fix but it will help. What you are going through is very normal for some of us and believe it or not it gets better much better. Once it starts to get better it gets better very quickly and you wish the heavy restriction stage lasted a bit longer. Hang in there ❤

SleeverSk reacted to liveaboard15 in 10 weeks post op
So just about 10 weeks post op.
No issues at all. No pain, I have had zero issues with any foods i have tried, zero issues with any drinks i have had. scars have healed up very nice, Vitamin intake has been good. only causes nausea once in a while. still taking medication for at least a year to prevent gall stones. Heart burn has been zero after the first couple weeks (which was very bad)
My daily meals typically consist of
either a chicken egg or 2 quail eggs with onions, banana peppers and cheese (Or if i am not feeling like food, i have a core power Protein shake)
lunch typically either grilled chicken or tuna
dinner for most days i have grilled king salmon
I went out to eat for the first time a few days ago. Friends and I were on a boat fishing and we decided to ride over to a restaurant on the Water and i ordered the Grilled Shrimp that came with French fries. Out of the 10 grilled shrimp i could only eat 5 of them. I also had probably 7 fries out of the basket. But still it was nice. Gave the rest of the food to friends to eat since we were still going to be out on the water for a bit.
Clothing has been a change. I have had to buy a new belt as the old one was too big as well as my pants. Shirts so far i am down from a 3-4 XL to 2XL
ALMOST DOWN 60LB so far

SleeverSk reacted to ShoppGirl in WHAT does religion have to do with me having surgery??????
No. I said he was NOT a medical doctor but still a doctor which I typically assume requires a certain level of common sense.

SleeverSk reacted to Arabesque in OOTD
A couple of weeks before Covid hit in 2020 & we entered lockdown I bought this outfit & it has been taunting me in my wardrobe ever since. Decided I wasn’t going to wait for a special event any longer so dinner wth my hairdresser current & former stylist was it. New French inspired restaurant in a small country town. My hair looked way better later as we had our regular hair appointment before dinner. The skirt is amazing. Known as the doona skirt as there is a layer of wadding inside. Still didn’t keep me warm enough though lol.

I am sure you will find there are plenty of people who do not have any religious beliefs that think nobody should have weight loss surgery, they think people should have the fortitude and willpower to do it 'the hard way' - Just eat less, just exercise, just say no, just trust the science of calories in calories out.......etc etc
This is why what I do with my body is my business, no one elses. This is why I don't tell people about my personal / medical business.

Sometimes you find the good religious folks... Then you have the crazy nut job ones...

SleeverSk got a reaction from HeatherE in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
Maybe he meant that now you seem happier and more confident which is a personality change. I realised just the other day that even though my core personality traits are the same I am laughing more, I feel better about myself and I have more confidence going out. Others would see that as a personality change and I bet that's what your doctor was referring to, he can see you are happier and more confident and that's a good thing for your doctor to notice because it means he sees past a body shape or size.
