i have been told that i have alot of large nerves and it makes me very sensitive to things.. i can feel the band all the time too.. or where it is anyway. especially if i take a big drink of something cold you can feel it hit your stomach like twice once in the pouch and once after it goes though.. also if it is something hard like a pill, it forces its way though sometimes if i take it to early in the day and i can feel where it goes through, painful that one is.

yeah i can feel my port too. It sort of freaks me out to think about it. I am not sure why but when i think about it or feel it i don't like it at all seems foreign. part of me wants to scream get it out lol. SO i try not to think of it. It is helping me alot. It is hard to describe its almost like what you would imagine a baloon that is half water and half air feels like. If you held it in your hand and sloshed it around the way the water felt when it hit your hand that is what it was like. happens every time i rock her. very wierd. not necesarily unplesant just wierd.

my port and band do not move.. but the tube connecting them can... not enough to hurt anything but i noticed when rocking my daughter it was moving with every rock and it was freaking me out lol. Dr. says not to worry about it but it bugs me to have it moving around... only noticed while rocking so far thankfully

How do you deal with no drinks during eating?
judeloren replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
this is the hardest thing for me.. but at the suprot group they showed an example of what happens if you drink while eating... even a small amount of Water will basicaly wash out the pouch and make the food go on through.. making it posible to eat more and not loose as quickly. I didn't think it was a big deal till i saw that... now though if i try to drink and eat i usually throw it up lol yuck. -
before my last fill.. i had 8 cc's in i could still eat whatevery i did before the surgery. the last fill put me up to 8.5 cc's and just now do i really feel like i am eating less i was freaking out too until i found this site and until my last fill i think i am finally getting there
-
i know how you feel. I was expecting more at first too but it wasn't until my last fill that is is moving a little quicker... it is a long slow process.. but at least it is moving in the right direction. We will get there! good luck

I was exactly here just 2 weeks ago... working out all the time and eating less ( though it seemed like it was just about what i was eating before) and then i finally hit a good spot. 8.5 cc's and i am a loosing machine all of a sudden... nothing all month and then 7 lbs in the past 2 weeks.. that was what i lost as a total for the last three months! loving the fill.. i didn't think i'd make it here but now that i am i am thrilled. it will happen. i didn't believe it but i do now.

I still get sholder pain, usually when i eat to much or to fast and air gets trapped. I asked my dr about it and she said because of the closeness of the band to the diaphram it can bump it and cause the pain just like after surgery... it is very anoying. I use it as a warning sometimes. mostly though it happens after i am done eating.

don't panic i had the same problem... and even now i can eat a whole lot of food before i get full. I have been loosing at the slow pace of 2 to 3 lbs a month... and sometimes i stall out and loose nothing.

7cc's in my 10cc band - not much restriction
judeloren replied to Me1e's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
trust me if it is slow it is very frustrating! lol. I'm to 8 cc's and not restricted... every fill i keep hoping but nothing yet really. most of my fills have been 1 cc so its filling pretty quickly. they can hold alot more my dr said my band could hold up to 14 cc's because i paniced that i was not going to get restriced not sure what size i am she said last fill that it is an 8 or 9 not sure which. maybe a 10 lol. -
A question for the LapBand veterans
judeloren replied to Junior's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have had no trouble at all. I have thrown up twice.. PB i guess they call it... and it was when i tried to eat bread right after a fill and the next morning when i had a tator tot... other than that i have not had a single problem other than a pain like i had a couple of times like i swallowed an ice cube whole. I am not properly restriced yet however. I have had about 5 fills. up to 8 cc in a 10 cc band. just depends on how your band fits and how restriced you are. -
Anyone who said this doesn't hurt=lies!
judeloren replied to ahsem2bme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my pain lasted almost exactly a week. i felt horrible and relied heavily on the pain meds... mostly my back hurt from trying to protect my stomach muscles. i had to roll out of bed sitting up was not an option. luckily it was over after a week lol i did think more than once what the heck did i do to my self -
Why am i not surprised that i am failing at this too.....
judeloren replied to kristi43's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello, i am right there with you. I am about to the point where i want to be filled to the point where i can't eat anything... because i can't seem to stop myself from being bad... (in my opinion) I can't give up the breads... I am at 8 cc's in a 10 cc band and i feel very much like i am failing again. like i will never loose it -
scared to be thin, but wants to be thin
judeloren replied to gone 4 ever's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
oh man i am so worried that is exactly what i am doing to my self. I am terrified lol. I want to be thin so bad but i feel like i am just spinning around and around and i wonder if it is because i am scared about it. i do get that mind selt right before a fill like i need to eat it all now because maybe tomorrow i can't... so far the can't hasn't been a problem . I really feel like i just need to be filled clear up so i can't and get on with it. I can't be afraid anymore lol. -
i have heard that before too, i just never thought about trying liquid... i have added more calories before, but that didn't help lol. hard to take away less than what i have because i am still not really restricted. will have to try the liquid before my fill... thanks

Ok here is my problem. I am completely stuck and not loosing... i average between 1200 and 1500 calories a day usually in the 1300's. every time i look at a magazine they have all the formulas that try to tell you how many calories to eat to loose weight... mine are all around 2000 or more... am i not loosing because i'm eating to little? i'm going crazy my brain can not handle that... i'm just wondering if any one has been told by a dr or had sucess with a specific amount of calories to shoot for?? any sugestions? I am not really restricted so i feel like i am dieting on my own and it is not working.

yes, i had trouble with this too, it goes right in the signature box with the info you would type about yourself. I am from kansas too! Ozawkie, its not to far from Lawrence. I have a hard enough time fitting it in with just a full time job and my daughter ( in the process of adopting!) I just got a Wii fit and it has changed my exercising! so excited. I to have been loosing slowly.. but stedily. ready to go a little bit faster lol. good luck with the working out its the hardest part lol :tongue_smilie: -
ok i need some advise, or information from some people who have found there "sweet spot". How do you know? I think i am very close and somedays i can eat alot less than others and feel just fine with that other days i can eat anything in the room.... Is it where you have that every day that you can only eat somethings and little amounts all the time... or is this imaginary and not going to happen all the time? any help would be apreciated. this is really the first restriction i have had and it came 3 weeks after my last fill.
-
the "sweet spot" is the place where you are filled just enough that you loose alot of weight and do not feel hungry often. I haven't reached this point yet so that is the best i can discribe it lol
-
ok not as close as i though lol... i can still eat a chicken sandwhich with bread in the middle of the day... alot more than 1 cup...
-
yay i just got my Wii Fit saturday and i am in love! I actually ran and i was ok... i didn't think i could run even for 3 min. the yoga gives me a good work out too just two days of using it about an hr each and when i got to work my neighbor said i looked like i suddenly lost alot of weight because my stomach was flatter ! i am super stoked that this will work for me. I didn't even notice i was dripping in sweat until i turned it off.
