Hi there!! so my first flight was 5.5 hours then the second was 3. We barely made it to my second flight because I did not use a wheel chair. USE A WHEELCHAIR if you can and have someone get you where you need to go. I ended up nearly running and it was awful.Blossom gives you these leg compressors that were really great to use just make sure they are charged. I wore a long maxi dress to be comfy in and it hid the leg compressors. Blossom will give you paperwork that will allow you to check in and get through security with them on. It’s not perfect but it’s really not bad. Honestly. Can you believe how fast the week went?!! I’m really excited for you. It’s going to change EVERYTHING. -

First off CONGRATULATIONS! Blossom was a really incredible experience. They take all the stress out of the entire thing, the hotel is nice and comfortable too. Each driver you have and just about every person you come in contact with there has had the surgery so ask them about their experiences too! Everyone is really patient but they are busy so it’s best to have questions ready to ask. I enjoyed my experience there. I had a surprise hernia repair that was quite painful to recover from but if it wasn’t for that I don’t think the recovery would have been as tough as it was but the nurses that come to the hotel act quickly and make you comfortable so it’s not terrible just be sure you take someone with you that can help you. I feel great I’m 4 months post opp and 67 lbs down! Enjoy the pool, enjoy the process, talk ask questions and try to relax when you can. I promise you will be okay and Blossom is going to surprise you! Feel free to ask me any other questions you have. GOOD LUCK M -

Pain & Discomfort Remains After 7 Weeks Post Op

Hi Emma, Your post reminds me of exactly what I went through too. I am now 4 months post opp. I wanted to tell you something that helped me understand and relax about what was happening. My Doctor explained it to me this way. If you and I were both to cut our thumb on the same day, at the same time in the same way we would heal at different rates. You may heal faster or slower than me. This is the same concept. My stomach took a very long time to heal. EVERYTHING you describe I also went through and even ended up in the ER. Please be kind to your new little tummy. Lots of water, stick with things like jello, broth, protein drinks, etc. I know its counterintuitive and it can feel like your going to starve to death because you cant eat right now. I assure you that you are not and that you will be okay. Do what you can and keep your mind occupied elsewhere (trust me I understand your thinking about this alot I get it too). Pace yourself, be patient and kind to your body. Take warm showers, read, rest, sip and relax. Try tea, or try frozen protein drinks. Small amounts. Your simply not healing as quickly as you thought you might or as quickly as others. I am 4 months post opp and I still cant handle ALOT of foods, so for right now Im concentrating on the foods I can handle and the things I can control while my body heals. I completely understand what is happening to you and just want you to know its going to be okay.
