Just for fun! Poll for TIM.
amourette replied to faybie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had been thru' too much in this weight loss journey so when I did my pre-op I was pedantic................oh ok, I snuck a burger one night, hehehe, but the only night, my reasoning was my father had died of heart disease 18 months before, my mum two weeks after and I was so scared if I didn't follow the doctors rules that might be it for me....no more! Yes sounds drastic but that is how we were all feeling. For many of us it is a last chance surgery! Was the best wake-up call and I can never thankz these people enough, the surgeons, nurses, your own family, and mostly the family who aren't there to encourage you ,'cos of serious losses! Thank u all, I am here also to give amy small advice I can to anyone else!!! -
Hi! I am new just had my Lapband today
amourette replied to DiverJewel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hope it will be something you will be so thankful for in the future, I was banded April 18 in New Zealand and am very happy, as long as you realise it isn't an overnight success. But I eat a lot of what I like, but at more normal quotas , which I wasn[t doing before. it is early stages for you, I remember that was a hard time, but a good time to lost weight also!!!! My life has changed, I have it back basically, and I hope you get to experience something similar. Good luck!!!! XXAmourette -
Of course we are glad to have you here, my story is different from everyone elses, that is why I come in here to see if what my doc says is normal with the rest of you, as you probably heard I had to have a unfill, had a great dinner last nite with friends, but tonite can't seem to get my dinner down, a bit strange. I leave New Zealand for an 8 day trip for work, all these new restrictions from the last week are a real pain for us that want to take our meals on board! I have had one fill, thought oh ok, can't eat a few things, thought I would get another bigger one, within a week I was in the surgeons asap, to deflate, I think we are all sensible people who can read the signs of what is good and what is bad!!! I look at how much I have changed since April, when I would eat a bucket of Nachos with the works, no more! I even went to the gym today, going to try and do 30 mins a day if nothing else, maybe later do weights. Like I said before, you need to take notice of our experiences and then take them to your doctor, printed out and say, hey, lets try this................ Any new photos for us? XX Amourette:clap2:

April Bandits what is our goal for August /September maybe we need some more focus, I feel sad we don't share our recipes and diets as such, we are at differect stages of stabilising but I would like to learn more. My diet consists of refriend beans, salsa . sour cream and guacomole, not good, tonite is salmon and spinach leave, yeah it's sucks and not looking forward to it, but this is suppose to be good surely?

Well I feel so down today, I could have sat down in the middle of the supermarket while shopping and burst into tears, I don't know why........I feel a little sad about being lonely, and money problems........it is hard, how do you pull yourself out of situations.....I had my friends for lunch today and tried to talk about it but they are in their little family unit with a 18 month old and one on the way and I couldn't make them see how I was feeling, and how I don't have the support system of another person. Sorry to blub! XX Amourette:(

Picardy, I didn't know what a PITA was, but finally figured it out......duh me!!!! Did you tell these people what you were having done, if not, what do you say to them all. I haven't told many people and I am running out of excuses, especially last week when I couldn't get any food down and people wondered why! Well I am better now in last day with the unfill, will give it a week though, as I was a bit hungry so maybe I still need some tweaking. YIPPEEE,Everyone, I went to the gym for the first time in ages, did 40 mins walking and cross-trainer, oh and a few arm weights, hope I can do it again tomorrow, I used to like the gym! Wow, lapbandit, congrats on your success. Everyone! I have 4 pounds until I will be under 90 kgs!! I am going to try hard this week! Susan let us know what happens with the port review! XX Amourette!

Glad to see you around, haven't heard from you in a while, did you do anything exciting for your vacation? Ooooh do write and let us know what people say when you go back! Surely someone will say something.......!!!! Dimples I don't think you will ever return to the bad habits from before, is your doctor approachable to talk things over? I guess I am lucky as my surgeon ( and there are only 3 in New Zealand) lives a 10 min drive away, so I can be there in a shot. HOWEVER, I was away today and had to come home (30 min flight) because I needed some fill out, I was only able to get down 3 cups of liquid in 48 hours and was starting to get a bit concerned, do you all get that horrible gurgly sound and feeling as well...........so I am back home now, 35 mins later and feel ok, but will see how it goes over next day or two, thank goodness the doc is so close! XX Amourette:omg:

Hi all, it's sunday here in NZ!!! I just got back from work and just sitting here doing a lot of thinking. I suspect I maybe overfilled, I thought this sounded like a blessing, but I can only get liquids down, not solids and it has been 9 days, does anyone agree? I am going to try some hummous and refried beans right now, but I am afraid it might come back up, maybe I should ring the doctor tomorrow, I just don't want to lose any fill at the same time, what do you all think? XX Amourette

I am a bit of a lurker in the background, am active in the April Bandits, but have seen your threads around a lot and read them, I think it is amazing and you are banded and so far from home, I really admire you. I am here in New Zealand, spend most of my time travelling overseas for work and I am struggling, don't even know how you must be coping with lack of food etc, wanted to write this to say there are many here who know who you are and are with you. I hope things are better today, it is hard being hard overseas, there is so much poverty, it kills me sometimes, but love to read about your adventures, hope you are better now Love Amourette!!!!

Hi to all of the April team, I was going to start this a couple of days ago, but it wasn't July there yet, where you all are hehehe!!! How is everyone. I am doing well, back working for my airline, I have to be really careful eating on board, I am convinced the band works more in the air, due to pressurisation, I have to be soooo careful, no big faux pas yet!!! My weight loss is slow, so slow I don't think I have it registered in the running weight loss, I wanna take it all in my own time, and I have lost, and I am happy for that. I don't wanna make it into a competion by comparing myself with other people. I have to downsize my uniform by 2 sizes so that is great, think I might see if I can get a tweak in the next few days, luckily my surgeon is only 10 mins away!!! Does anyone live up Atlanta way? Cheers and thinking of you all!! Fi aka amourette!:clap2:
-
You have done fantastic, my biggest loss was with the pre-surgery diet.............. Yoda!!!.......glad to hear that is per week, was thinking wow, at that rate it will take you years hehehe! I had another fill yesterday, struggling with thick liquids at moment, so I will wait a couple of days and see if it gets any better........today I had to fly and I felt quite tight, hardly ate all day, but wasn't hungry either...hmmmm:phanvan Yes, I had only lost less than a kilo, but the nurse said that was ok, since I was on holiday and hadn't gained at least. How was everyones day today??
-
Was thinking about your aim of 1 pound a month, is that the right figure, I am suppose to lose around 6-8 pounds a month........?:phanvan I am so curious to see how much I weigh today, sure I won't have lost anything!:huggie:
-
Hi everyone, I have been on a 2 week break up to Atlanta, Georgia to see my family and my one year old niece, it was very exciting, she is soooo cute. She is one of the reasons I have embarked on this journey as I don't want her to have a fat aunt! Boy, was it hot up that way though, in the 100's, quite unbearable, I feel I must have sweated off ten pounds alone (no I didn't )! I have another appointment tomorrow, think I may have a small fill, it was very hard staying with someone for 2 weeks, as they noticed my eating habits were quite different and they love to drink wine with their food. I think they suspect something, but I wasn't telling, didn't find the right moment. How is everyone else doing? XX Amourette:D

I will go and have a look now, although it is usually very expensive to order the same books down here, they usually have a huge mark-up!

What is 'cool whip' exactly, is it healthy? I live down under and we don't have this. But I have access to it..........would you recommend it, does it have artificial sweetner? Sorry all the questions, thanx!!!!:phanvan
