Wow, this is interesting, I am less than one week into using it and my skin is so dry, maybe i just got carried away applying too much so will tone it down perhaps to every other day. Boo, I got mine in Hong Kong, you can anything there, but if it works I think my doc would give it to me anyway, they are pretty relaxed here in NZ! I am tempted to try Botox, but worried I can't afford 4 monthly appointments hehehe!!!! XX

Post lapband, pre first fill and taking appetite suppresants
amourette replied to November Lily's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would take them if you are sensible about the dosage but really if the operation has been successful you will just not need them, I was the biggest overeater/food obsessor, and I have succeded with the lapband! XX Good luck Fills make such a difference! -
I'm worried: Being banded in 2 weeks but i just caught a horrible cold
amourette replied to sfeliz001's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Two weeks is heaps of time to recover, go to your doctor if you can to nail it on the head, 'cos I sure wouldn't recommend surgery if you have a cough, they may refuse to do it and you will be asking for trouble........step on it now, and you will be fine! Do what ever it takes Good luck Amourette XX -
with the Botox, do you use it for preventative measures, I want to do it but am worried I will not be able to afford the upkeep in the future. :)

amourette replied to ladyvase's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you guys are doing well, it took me a couple of weeks to go back to work but as I do very physical work I was sooooo lucky to get 6 weeks off at surgeons, not bad eh? For you bandsters about to embarke on this great jouney it isn't easy, but I am a big woose and I did it fine, for me I don't think about food at all, obsessed over my next meals after the last bite of the one before, I was achieving nothing, and my 1 yr is April 18 and please if you feel you are really in the right place do it.............oh no I am crying now, it has changed me so much, but I am into the exercise big time, as didn t have that higher BMI I wanna cry at this point and tell you this is the best thing I ever did!!!!!!! But approach with the acknowledgement, that you can' t eat like before, well u can , but it will be hard for you all that time over the toilet hehehe! It is 't a year yet for me but I am learning everyday, there will be some good, some bad, on the bad,, drop in and talk to April Bandits we are there all the time Good Luck Fiona New Zealand:D -

My doctor said he was concerned about my fatty liver after the op and I followed the strict diet for two weeks before hand, only cos I thought I might die on the operating table if I didn't........was still a shock to learn though and a big wake up call!:cry

I was lucky to have six weeks off but only 'cos I am an international flight attendant and the risk was too high after this surgery for blood clots and complications if something didn't go right in the first few weeks, what line of work do you do? I know I was lucky to get that much time off work, and believe me I made the most of it, thought I would be assigned ground duties but managed to escape that! XX Amourette When is your surgery!:girl_hug:

That is something which sounds so foul to me but then again I am a wine drinker.........are you asking about drinking alcohol in general? Or just that particular drink Kind regards Fiona:D

amourette replied to JulieNYC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was giggling to myself at the couple of posts about not reaching this months goal, 'cos I am so bad, I don't even know what the goal is, sorry all, I am a bit slack, i am sure I have passed it though, otherwise I wouldn't be saying this, today I had to fight off again at work all the comments about my weight loss and great attitude, I never work with the same people. sometimes I don't see them for years........I don't reveal though it is too personal for me, wow, so the 1st of March is over here already, what is the challenge for us now, and what is our celebration ideas for April!!! Maybe a big chat in the chatroom together? XX Amourette, no workout today just 15 hours on my feet, 4 of them in killer stillettos hehehe! -

Wow, what a time you have had, glad you are with your daughter now, that will perk you up big time!!!! And the last thing you have to worry about is putting on weight, can your daughter access a blender and you could make smoothies with protein powder etc, there is loads you could eat!!! Well I put my bike in front of the TV and watched some of the Oscars, and went for a run along the road, had a swim in the wonderful, cool water at the beach, everyone is commenting how wonderful and happy i seem lately! Someone even pulled me aside at work to comment on it! 30 mins walk/run outside 12 mins stationary bike XX Amourette -
Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
amourette replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was lucky to have 6 weeks off, but only because of my job and the fact that I fly international, it was just too risky, luckily I didn't get have to do ground work so I used this time to move house (ouch) and get rid of some jet-lag! XX:D -
Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
amourette replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here are some answers from me! I was banded in New Zealand, stayed one night in hospital, was a bit painful, had voltaren and tramadol, but just felt like I had hurt ribs and I am a big baby normally, hehehe!!! 6 weeks off work because I am a flight attendant, so threat of DVT after major surgery. After 2 weeks could move and lift slowly. Had 3 fills, one unfill, am great were I am, haven't had a fill in ages, luckily my doctor is only 10 mins away. Support wise, doctors is ok, but my biggest and most wonderful support is from on here, asking loads and loads of questions, and reading, now I come on here nearly everyday to our exercise thread. Didn't start exercising until 4 months ago, one day something clicked and I wanted to get out there. Have lost 28 kilos and down to size 12 from size 20/22! Hope this helps! Feel free to PM me anytime! Love to you all!!! XX Amourette -
