I eat to much plain and simple. I am Italian and love food. I am not a cake and cookies kind of girl, though sometimes when we go out to dinner or we are on a cruise I enjoy a decadent dessert. I also enjoy ice cream, but not in huge amounts. A pint of Ben and Jerrys lasts me about 4 sittings. I am a meal eater. I eat meals in large portions, and I love food, that is why I am fat.

I did not have to do a liquid diet before my surgery I just had to lose 15 pounds by following a healthy diet. I have not followed the clear liquid diet for 2 weeks as I was supposed to. I had cream of potato soup for lunch today. I pureed it and added skim milk to reduce the thickness and cut down the salt.

I am one week out today and I feel pretty good. My incisions are healed for the most part. My port pain is minimul. I took my kids to the beach today with a friend of mine. We left at about 1:15 and I had to come home and take a nap but other than that things were great. I am hungry and not very motivated to drink meals anymore. I am down about 10 pounds since I had it done last week. I meet with the doc and nutritionist on Friday. I cannot wait. I want to go to the next eating stage.

:help: I was banded on Monday. For the last few days I have been having some pain when I am sitting or standing up. If I am laying down I am fine but if I stand up I feel like I have a huge burp trapped. It is really uncomfortable. :cry I am hoping nothing is wrong. I am on clear liquids until next friday. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Best and worst reactions to telling people you were banded?
crteacher replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have told very few people. My DH, parents, brother, a select few friends, and just recently my mother in law. Nobody else from my family or my husbands family knows. I just had it done last week and will see if I change my mind as I start to lose weight. I will probably go with the seeing a nutritionist, eating right, excersice thing. i dont think I would lie to someone if directly asked if I had surgery. I was very lucky that my family was very supportive of the LAP band. It would not have been such an easy thing if I told them I wantd RNY. They would not have supported me on that. -
I have not been here in a bit but I was banded on July 10 by Dr Rebecca Shore.

Hello there, My name is Candice and I am 31 years old. I have 2 children that are ages 1 and 2. I am almost 5'8 and am around 305. I am going to the required informational session tomorrow night at Saints Memorial in Lowell, Ma to start the process of banding for me. I am not doing this to get skinny, I just want to be more healthy for my children, and being in a size that will allow me to shop in any store will be a nice added bonus. I look forward to all of the insight and advice you have to give! Candice
