I agree that you need some major protein added to your liquid diet. Also get up and move around as much as possible.

For the "Clear Liquid Phase" post-op I used Isopure and Unjury... Now I use Designer Whey or Slim Fast High Protein shakes. They are yummy and don't have a funky aftertaste.

Since we all need motivation at different times during any journey, I thought that it would be great to share our favorite sayings with each other. We have all heard the "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels", do you have one to share with everybody? Mine is: "Your sure can't get to where you are going by sitting on the couch" I'm taking my own advice and going to exercise!:clap2:

My gallbladdar was removed during my pregnancy with my 14 year old daughter. Never over those past 14 years have I had a problem with any food that I could attribute to the gallbladdar remova.

I agree with Marimaru... It sounds like First Bite Syndrome. Try drinking warm liquid or soup right before you eat and see if it helps. Also... Work on your eating, go slower and take smaller bites.

I hit the mini goal that I was tryinig for, two days ahead of schedule!!! I was trying to get below 245 before my B-Day (this Thursday) and I did it!!!!! This morning I weighed in at 244. I have been doing good everyday. I am keeping below 1000 cals, and doing the intermediate level aerobics daily. I am finally seeing progress. Well, it is about damn time! I still haven't added the crunches yet, but that is my goal for later this week. I am loving wearing clothes that haven't been on my bod in about 8 or so months... It really feels great! Including what I lost pre-op my grand total is -21 lbs. only -11 since banding, but at least it is starting to finally come off. It is gonna be tricky to eat a piece of cake and still stay under my 1000 cal limit. I am definately foregoing the ice cream (even the "light"),. My 13 yr old daughter (Stephanie) is making my cake. This will be her first attempt at a cake, but all of her other cooking is excellent so I know she can pull it off.

You have lost a ton of weight. Good for you! As you read various threads you will see that most people lose initially easily (with exception of myself). The vast majority have to put in alot of work to keep the loss coming off. Your fills will help you out, but it is up to you to do the work. I am sure that you can do it and you are already off to an excellent start. I wish I were in your shoes.

I regret telling ANYONE about my banding... Going into the band I really had little doubt that I would be sucessful, but now that I am not a sucessful loser it has been terrible having to answer to people about "how it is going" and "how much have you lost". I have resorted to saying that "I quit weighing myself". It totally sucks to be policed about your foods, especially when you are eating the "legal" band foods and are still questioned about nosey people.

My fluid gain from the hospital was a whopping 16 pounds!!!! It went away after about a week and a half.
-
I have had to give up ALOT of foods that I like (both healthy & unhealthy), but I definately do enjoy what I eat alot more than before. The process of overchewing my food really lets me savor the flavor and enjoy it more than I thought it would.

O.k... that funk didn't last too long... I am back to positive and feeling great about my loss. I finally (after alot of tinkering) have discovered that it takes me eating less than 1000 calories a day to lose. I also have to have a solid workout at least 6 days a week. I lost the weight that I had gained last weekend from the little bit of cheating that I did at the casino... I know that I still am coming up way short on my loss, but today i realized that I haven't weighted this "little" in about 8 months! I actually reached my mini goals of doing the intermediate level aerobics, AND I got to get some bins of clothes out of the attic and I can fit into the size 18 jeans! Yeah!

Penni, I just wanted to offer my support to you. You are facing an issue that we may all have to face in the future. I know for me personally that if my band is removed, then I will do whatever it takes to have an alternate WLS performed at the time of removal. I have made a promise to myself that MY health is a priority to me. I will get to where I need to be no matter what it takes. ((hugs))

It can definately be overwhelming to look at all that can go wrong, but just like other aspects in life you cannot focus your precious time and energy on what can happen. I have been slow in my journey with my band to get positive results, but I am really working to keep myself and my health at the forefront of my day. I think that you should be proud of yourself that you took a positive step towards your health, and most of all that you love your daughter enough to seek out help for her with her weight struggles. If my daughter was obese then I would do whatever it took to get her help, just like you did for your daughter.

How long before bed or what time do you stop eating?
Kathi replied to stefunny's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't eat 3 hours before bed. -
I have had to do alot more "tinkering" with myself than I think most people have had to to get the weight loss to start. After ALOT of experimenting (weight watchers, nutritionist, modified south beach) all since banding, I have learned that I do not lose if I eat over 1000 calories a day. I also have to have a solid workout 6 days a week (aerobics / treadmill). I am also a single momma to 4 kids. I eat what they eat, BUT I am cooking alot healthier than before with no complaints from my motley crew. Alot of the changes they don't even notice. BTW... My NEVER list of foods is: Pizza, Bread in any form, Pasta (except multigrain), pop, liquid calories (except protein shakes), regular cheeses ( I stick with either 2% or FF), candy, chocolate, junk food, and Ice cream.

I second what Penni says.

My doctor requires all patients to eat like a bandster (except larger portions) every day for 8 weeks before he will do your surgery.

Here's another apple!!! I may weigh 250 lbs, but most of that is my abdomen/upper body. My legs and butt look like a normal sized person. I actually think that my legs and butt are a size 16 and my waist is a 20. It sucks so bad because it is so hard to find clothes cut to fit right. The wierdest part is that both my mom and sister (whom I really look alot alike) is a pear???!!! Go figure! I don't have a huge chin, but my face is slimming down some.
-
Congrats on your surgery!!!! It sounds like you are doing great!
-
I am interested in that program too... I did buy the "Slim in 6" workouts that they sold last year (same company) and I have to say that it is the best aerobics that I have ever done. You work your butt off. I was interested in the Turbo Jam just to change up my routine and because it looked fun.

Hi guys! My weight loss is at a snail's pace... I am bouncing up and down with the same two pounds for the last two weeks. I let myself cheat a little this past weekend, so I am really working hard to get back on track. This has turned out to be alot more work than I had thought. I really have to count every calorie and force myself to exercise all but one day each week. Hope all is well with everybody.

How soon after surgery did you feel hungry?
Kathi replied to div95008's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My hunger took about 2 - 3 weeks to come back... And boy did it come back! I stayed really hungry until my first fill.
