Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

My Ah Ha Moment Story - My highest was 283. My I had it moment was when I went to CA. for a vacation and went to an animal park with my Mom. You had to walk everywhere and it was long hilly walks. I had to get a ride back to the front of the park from a guy with a golf cart because I could not walk anymore I felt so ashamed. And I was sweating so much I felt like a pig. Also I was with my sister and my mom and they kept saying I kept them up from snoring so much at night and that was cause of my weight. I came back home and started the process for the LB. I orginally wanted to have bypass like my Mom however I had Liver surgery in the past and due to the adhesions it was safer for me to have the LB. I got my band on 07/03/2008 and followed my Drs plans to a T and my lowest weight was 211. I got cocky and also got my band to tight and started gaining weight due to me not following my Drs rules. I had some Fluid taken out and have restarted over following my Dr rules. I am currently doing the 5 day this is day 1 so far so good.

I am glad you checked in. You are a 129 pounds down that is awesome. You might want to consider the 5 day pouch test. It brings you back to basics kind of like a kick start to get any bad things you are eating out of your system. You can google it and come up with the rules of it. Several puple on another thread I post on are doing it and have great results. I am going shopping today so I can get back on track with my progess. -
Congrats on being banded. Walking is the best for gas as people have stated. Even if it is just walking around inside your house. Like Arlene said follow your Drs advice to a T

Oh I forgot to mention I am doing alot better. My headache went away overnight and the only thing left that still hurt was my right wrist and my right ankle. But as of today I feel alot better. I think falling on my wrist just aggrevated my carpal tunal which flairs up every so often. So all in all I am doing well. Thanks for all the love and concerns. Meredith - Vent away you are aloud Jewel - The Dr sounds nice. You are right take it nice and slow.

So for some reason mutli quote is not working Laura - for my birthday I had to choose to pay a bill with my money or continue on with my tattoo on my back so I understand the conflict with spending your birthday money on something you really need (adult thing to do) or buy something you really want. Want versus Need that always gets in the way. Let us know how the swallow comes out. Sorry someone gave you a hard time I guess they did not know that you were joking. How rude. At least all the important people knew you were joking

Linda - Thank you for your support and encouragement. Kristi - Welcome aboard I am self pay too. Ask any questions you want. As you can see alot of us ar various stages of our journey.

Jessica - Try not to beat yourself up. For different reasons we are both doing the same thing with eating and our heads. I am glad nothing is broken. Are you aloud to walk? How about punching? Like punching a bag or your bed something to get the frustration out since you can't run. I hope your new Dr helps and go to OA it can help or got to at least one meeting and see if it is for you. Great job on the motorcycle, I bet that it is fun. And I am so proud of you with the nursing you will make an awesome nurse heck it sounds like you already are. Love you girl keep yopur head up. I have a sprain in my right wrist nothing broken. I bought sugar free pudding but ate the crap out of it. 1 or two cups a day. I am trying to feed something but not sure what. I guess I feel bad about my weight and I eat more. . I am going to call my Diabetes Dr on Monday and see if I can go in an talk about food and my cravings and see what she suggests. I know my LB Dr wants me eating 800 - 1000 calories a day and 30 min exercise. I really need to journal then I can see what I am doing on paper. I have watched that show HEAVY and it is really interesting anybody else watching it?

Well I fell at work last night, Big time. I slipped on the floor landed on my right side mostly and then hit my head, tail bone, right shoulder, right wrist and ankle. To make it worse customers were outside the window and saw ,totally embarrassing. I am off work today which was a schedule day off. My headache is gone just my right wrist and ankle hurt, just a sprain nothing broken thank goodness. It happen so fast I was walking then I was on the floor. Other than that I am doing well. I am fighting my sugar and carb demons big time trying to do Protein then something happens and I am eating sugar again. I know what to do but my head says no be bad. The tennis has helped with the exercise I just need the food to fall in place. I am 258 now my highest before surgery was 283 and lowest with my lapband was 211. I want to be thinner again my head won't quick. I need brain surgery (I know there is nothing for our heads). I can do this. Can I switch fruit for sugary Snacks? I know everyone has a difference of opinion so do I do the 5 day, I don't think the one free snack day will help cause that will send me in a spiral again. So opinions please. Post away. I really do want this, I do but my sugar demon is getting in the way and I need to shut it up. I have a splint on my left arm so forgive mis spellings

Sandy my dog loves tennis balls so I can give them to her and I have a friend who's two dogs have about 20 different tennis balls. At least I have a place for them. Oh and by the way when I got older my parents and I became closer. I was always close to them but after I had my own child I really understood what I put them through (LOL). I love spending time with them.
-
Thank you for the info. I thought they would go faster, I was just trying to find away to play tennis on a wet court and not ruin the tennis balls. If it is not raining my son wants to go practice with me. Which I love but I do not want to keep buying tennis balls. (On his team they told me if the balls get to weathered they are consider non playable). I think if I have to buy more balls it is a small price to pay to be able to play tennis with my son. I just love it. Quality time.
-
They are pretty but probably not fun to be in. Stay warm.

I am very happy we had alot of fun. Oh except now it has been raining so we have not practice. I have been unable to find and indoor court near us yet. Does anyone know if you use a racket ball instead of a tennis ball if their is a real difference? Meaning if it was just wet outside and we wanted to play I figured you can use a racket ball cause it is rubber and the weather would not ruin it. This is just for Alex and I to play with. Any ideas?

Thanks for the encouragement. I am glad we can find something my DS and I can do togther. It has been a little hard with the 15 yr old teenager and his hormones. You know they tend not want to spend time with their parents so yes this is really a win win.
-
So because my son wants my husband or I to play tennis with him so he can practice, I am learning to play tennis. Alex (DS) is teaching me; he made the JV team at school (since this is the first year he is playing). I ran suicides, did lunges and all the other fun stuff the boys get to do during practice. I will be sore tomorrow. But I had alot of fun being with my son and he was having fun being my teacher. I thought I was going to be sick because the only work outs I get is my job which is very physical; however since I am working less than 30 hours right now it really is not that much of a work out. But I have to say we had so much fun together. I think he really digged the fact he was teaching me something. What teenager would not want to tell their parent what to do. He has practice tomorrow after school and I am off of work so I said I will go watch and then we can play together after words. I just have to get to work on the eating I am doing because I am stuck in carb addictive behavior. But with the recent posts of ideas I will turn it around.
