Hi all thanks for your opinions on journaling. I am trying but I agree i forget what it is I ate when I do it. I have tried to keep up my water intake to at the very least the 64oz. I was doing great except for the last two days I did not make it. I have been so busy at work I forget to drink. Anyways I hope you are all doing well. -

Hi everyone, I am new to this group but I have been banded since July 08. I am teetering on 50lbs loss and feel anxious about it. Meaning I have eaten crap these last couple days because I am scared. Did or does anyone have this problem? Is there a weight goal you were scared to be at? Does anyone of you journal your food? Any suggestions on an easy way to do it or at least a format I can follow?

I have to get over the mental part of the eating thing too. Because I will always say I am hungry even if I am not really hungry. I guess I am hungry for other things so I substitute t with food, like I am sure a lot of us do. I think they call it self medicating with food. To me it seems so much better than drugs. The problem for me is we wear our problems on the outside of our bodies for everyone to see them. That is why I made myself a bracelet that says take it slow and one day at a time. So I can try yo remember to slow down. Charlene K I have to say when you said " That is why I have a turtle in the weeds on my ticker. It made me smile. -

Yes I exercise but in the morning. This is two times a week for an hour then I walk during my 15 minute break at work. I actually am tired when I get home but as soon as my head hits the pillow its like my brain turns on and won't be quite. -

Hello All, Quick question to those who have trouble sleeping. Before surgery I took Ambien and had no trouble with the sid effects you hear about now.. After I had surgery I had no trouble falling asleep so I never took anything. Then alot of stressful events have happen and I had trouble falling asleep again. So I tried benadryl then nothing happened. So I went back to Ambien then I started sleep eating my husband said. What the heck! Does anyone else have this problem? Or can anyone give me any ideas to help me sleep with out the Ambien? My problem is as soon as I hit my pillow my brain tuend on with everything I need to do the next day. -
Banded in July 08 and have only lost 10 pounds!! HELP!

Hey Dee, I am a fellow July Bandit as well. I have struggled with my emotional eating which tends to trigger my eating of slider foods. I have even got on an ice cream kick as well. I just started going back to my basics to try to get off of the sugar and carbs that have gotten a hold of me lately. I know you feel sad now but it will pass. You can do it. As you can tell from the replies to your post we are all here to help. Just don't lose touch with your doctor. He/she can definetly help when you are struggling. And if you are relying on mostly slider foods than I agree you might be to tight. Hang in there. As you can see all of us were banded in July and we have all had different experiences. -

Hey All, I have been hanging in there. Just need some encouragement. Things have been going good here, even though I find myself struggling right now. Just feeling blue these last couple of days. I feel like what if I only lose 41lbs and the rest does not come off. I am scared I will fail at this. I did the 5 day to get back on track then got lost again with comfort food. I feel like I am in an emotional rut can anyone help me? I feel so lost at the moment. I went to my surgeon today to see how I am doing. I didn't want another fill I just needed some help. Actually he said I was doing really well. I guess this really is a mind thing. He said I am losing roughly 1-2lbs a week which is really good. I do have a sweet thing going on right now which is maybe why I am feeling this way. -

Thank you so much for adding to what I said. We are on this board to support each other. Not to bring those of us down who already feel like crap. -

Thanks so much for your help. I am going to work on what you said. I have only seen you on this forum and I posted a message on the detox post you started. I was looking for a mentor and saw your post. Even though I live in Ga. I figured you could help. Don't know why but something said to respond to your post so I did. -

Starting the holiday detox early, anyone wanna join me?
1day at a time replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is not a diet it is a way for you to get over the carbs and sugar you might have eaten over the holidays and get back on track. If you would take the time to look at it you will see that this is just the way you ate when you first got banded and nothing extreme it is just reminding you of what you did and need to do to get back on track. Anyways why do some of you feel it was important to post about the negative stuff when this post only had to do with the people that needed help. -

Hi, I have talked to you in another forum about the 5 day but I could really use some help. I am 6 months post op and I find myself struggling. I lost my job in September and started another one on 10/6/08 which is more demanding as far as being on the phone more. I have not exercised in a while I have had a terrible cold twice since I started this job I feel tired all the time. I feel like screaming why did I spend all this money ( I am self pay) and are not following the guidelines. I would love a person to talk to about this journey especially someone who is farther out than me. I also want to say your picture is very beautiful I really like the pip up look maybe one day I will develop the confidence to take a picture like that. Did you always have confidence like you have now?
