About Me
I am 8 years post-op, having had RNY in the UK in 2013. I had various health problems including high blood pressure but this was elective surgery. Since surgery no more blood pressure problems and, once weight lost, able to exercise and move normally. Gained a little weight after 8 years but lost this post cancer treatment. Hope to really keep it down now, as I feel so much better.
My daughter had RNY surgery in 2010. She was also on drugs for Bipolar disorder, which had made her gain substantial weight and contributed to her depression. She has weaned herself off all drugs through exercise (endorphins are a natural antidepressant) after losing the weight - in fact she ran over 100 marathons in a year! She was, and is, my inspiration.
My step-daughter has had RNY surgery yesterday, 30th August. She is just about to start her own journey towards good health.
