  1. Hello all! I have recently moved to the Dallas area and am currently trying to find a doctor in the area that will do an adjustment on my band. I was banded in 2002 in Mexico with Dr. Sanchez. I got information about a Dr. Jay, but I just found out after calling that I have to wait 4 WEEKS before I can come in to be adjusted!!! I have not had an adjustment in over 4 years. In this time I have given birth, nursed my son for 15 months, and put on a good thirty pounds. I do not want to wait another month and put on more weight in this time or not have the money to keep my appointment. If anyone out there knows of a doctor in Houston or in Dallas that will do an adjustment (under flouro) on a patient banded in Mexico sooner than March or if anyone has an earlier appointment with Dr. Jay (Like next week or the week after) and they would like to switch dates with me I'd appreciate it. Please--I need to have this band I paid thousands for help me drop some weight. Also, if you know of ANY doctors in Texas that will do fills on foreign banded patients under flouro--please inform me--I'm willing to drive! do I sound frantic? LOL... Thanks for reading! Arnissha
  2. Hello all! Today was my first official fill after over 4 years with no adjustments or check ups on my band. I was walking around with 5cc's thinking that my band had nothing in it at all. During this time, i'd been pregnant, given birth and nursed my son for over a year. So, today the doctor gives me a fill of 7cc's and it was too much--I threw up the barium. So, he removes 1cc (yes I had to pay $375 for 1cc, sucks for me right?) and leaves me with 6cc. But, I have not been able to drink anything, i'm even throwing up my own saliva! How can 1cc make this much of a difference? At 5cc I was able to nourish a baby for 9 months and nurse him? At 6cc I cant keep down Water? WTF? So my question is...do I go back and get this 1cc removed or give it a day or two and see if it adjusts itself. Would I be dehydrated by then? Or...do i go back and ask for a .5cc out? Let me add--when i was pregnant--I had 5cc's in my band and gained only 12 pounds the entire pregnancy. My starting weight was 265 and the lowest Ive weighed is 210. Right now i'm at a hefty 233, the exact weight I was upon giving birth. Banded in August 2002 in Mexico with Dr. Sanchez. I have an 11cm bioenterics (sp?) lapband. Thanks people! I appreciate the advice...

    I'm DYING over here!

I had 5cc and he added 2cc and then took out 1cc, leaving me with 6cc. Basically, I wondered if I should give it another day or definitely go back and get a bit more taken out?

stomach flu w/ the lap band

I actually had the stomach flu back in 2006. I was banded in 2002. At the time, I was 5 months pregnant with my 2nd child as well and had about 5cc in my band. From what I remember--everything just came right up fine--no problem.

    Stretched Pouch?

I was banded back in August 2002 and I was told back then that it was possible to stretch the portion of stomach that holds the food above the lap band. Is this possible? Could the reason why i havent lost much weight is because i've made my smaller stomach bigger by overeating? I do have some fluid in my band--but not too much because I no longer throw up every time I eat something. Has anyone heard of this?
  6. I was banded by Dr. Sanchez in Mexico in 2002 and I am still not at my goal weight. On top of all that--i think I may have stretched my pouch because it seems as if I am able to eat almost as much as i used to. The only bright spot in this is that i have not gained all the weight i lost back. I was wondering, does anyone out there know of a good, inexpensive fill doctor that does not mind adjusting foreign banded patients in TEXAS?
