Hi, I had my surgery in April (self pay) and now my Mom is trying to, she is scheduled for 2-14-04 and has Federal Blue Cross and Blue Shield. I am wondering how you got pre approval. They keep telling me and my dr's office that they will not pre approve. Anyone have any info.

Copied from: Blue Cross® and Blue Shield® Service Benefit Plan http://www.fepblue.org 2007 Gastric restrictive procedures, gastric malabsorptive procedures, and combination restrictive and malabsorptive procedures to treat morbid obesity –a condition in which an individual has a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or more, or an individual with a BMI of 35 or more with co-morbidities who has failed conservative treatment; eligible members must be age 18 or over. Benefits are also available for diagnostic studies and a psychological examination performed prior to the procedure to determine if the patient is a candidate for the procedure. Does this sound like they are going to pay for Lap Band after January 2007.

Please tell me somebody can see a difference!!!!! I don't think I can. The first pic is from Feb before surgery and the second is from July exactly 3 months out.
