What an amazing achievement!! You look great! 😄

During my soft food phase I was advised to eat mashes, like baked salmon with potato put in a blender! It went down wonderfully and I really enjoyed it. I’d say it was like 250g of salmon to one small-medium potato. Obviously no milk or cream added so you can freeze it in small portions! I’ve eaten potato over a dozen times now after the soft food phase, I just incorporate it into the vegetable part of my meal. It’s delicious and so long as I eat slowly, goes down just fine and sits very well! 🤗

Are you a member of the polar bear club?
Summermoose replied to AnotherGuy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was a member of the polar bear club even when I was at a BMI of 43! I’ve lost 78 lbs since surgery in august and have transcended into arctic hell 😭 It got so bad at one point that I was sleeping with five blankets, but I finally invested in a mattress warmer that I just keep on all night long, so now I only need two. I really hope this passes! 🥶 -
Chocolate cravings!!!
Summermoose replied to PCOS_Mama94's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found a chocolate caramel protein bar that I really like that I keep for this exact situation, as well as a chocolate protein pudding! So long as you keep it available and know you’re allowed to have it when you want it, it keeps you from overdoing it ☺️ -
I’ve gone through all that and then some! I had anorexia which turned into bulimia when I was a teenager so I weighed myself obsessively. It was an instrument of absolute torture and it breaks my heart when I read about others struggling with scales as well. Please don’t let it get to the point where it has that much power over you that it begins to negatively affect your life. Nothing about the semblance of control you feel you are grasping at when obsessive weighing starts is any sort of actual control. Your body does what it wants and your weight loss is happening regardless of you weighing yourself so often or not. It’ll only drive you crazy and make you unhappy. I’ve been ordered by my surgeon to only weigh myself once a week (forever!), and have been able to stick to it. My husband knows about my history and keeps an eye on me as well ☺️ If you or anyone else would like to chat about this for some support, please do let me know. 💕

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
Summermoose replied to chiquitatummy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I went shopping with my sister a few days ago and tried on a lovely sparkly sweater in H&M. It was a size medium and looked all sorts of baggy on me so I didn’t end up buying it. I know mega oversized clothes are all the rage right now and that contributes to why it was too big but I’ll gladly take it anyway!!! 🥳😃 -
1 Month Post Op Pictures
Summermoose replied to BirdLady21's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wow what a difference already and it’s only been a month!! You are GLOWING! 😃 -
I would call my surgeons office to let them know and ask them about it. I had dark stool from accidentally taking too much zinc for a month, but I wouldn’t experiment with stopping my vitamins without any professional guidance!

Well done! 🥳

Chewing makes food dry
Summermoose replied to ClareLynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally get what you mean ClareLynn! I feel the exact same about tuna, and I think that’s why it didn’t (and still doesn’t at 4 months po) sit well in my stomach. I‘ve tried mixing it with avocado and a little bit of mayo instead of just mayo and that did help a little in keeping it more moist, but not enough for me to want to keep eating it, so I’m not sure that’ll help. But at least now you know you’re not alone! 😄 -
How spicy do you eat?
Summermoose replied to DaisyAndSunshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’ve been eating kimchi daily since 2 months po - no issues at all! 😃 -
I hit goal today!
Summermoose replied to blackcatsandbaddecisions's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations! What an accomplishment! 😃 -
I have been thinking about increasing my calories because of this. My surgeon doesn’t have me on a set amount of calories. He was extremely happy with my weight loss so far and asked me to stop weighing my food and eat ‘normally’ (three meals with two snacks), and I am at approx. 650/700 kcal per day right now with those three meals and two snacks. But HOW on earth can I eat more calories without adding fat and sugar? I am at a loss here 🙁 Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

These are my favourite questions on this forum! I love reading everyone’s replies 🥰 My bucket list is: - Go to a trampoline park/playground for adults (they look SO cool!) - Visit Florida and go to a crazy waterpark - Take surfing lessons (on holiday somewhere, the North Sea isn’t very appealing 😆) - Run a 10k in Disneyland Paris - Go on a canopy walk with a tour guide in Costa Rica - Go on an ecological/animal friendly safari - Hike down and back up the Grand Canyon - Take some sort of martial arts class to learn how to kick some serious butt 😄 - … This is nowhere near complete! So I have a lot of dreaming and saving up to do 😁

Summermoose replied to phenomenally_me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m two days shy of being 15 weeks po and I’ve lost 70 pounds (32 kg) I am so proud of myself 😃🥺 I can hardly believe it! I can almost taste the 99 kg mark, if I keep losing at this rate I’ll reach it mid January! -
Congrats OutdoorsGirl! 😃

Spaghetti bolognaise! My husbands portion on the left (what I would have eaten pre op), mine on the right. It was delicious! -
Anyone else depressed after surgery?
Summermoose replied to BariJen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt blue for a while too! I read somewhere that any anaesthesia carries this risk and couple that with feeling tired, trying to recuperate after major surgery all the while you struggle to drink let alone eat? It’s a perfect cocktail for those feelings to arise. I felt MUCH better a week later, and would really encourage you to reach out to your loved ones so they can support you through this 💕 Be kind to yourself, be proud of yourself! You took a major step that took a lot of courage 💕 -
I had one for two days after surgery as well. The nurse warned me before removal that it would be VERY unpleasant but I felt nothing at all! Taking out my IV however, that was another story.. 🤣

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
Summermoose replied to chiquitatummy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Today it has been a full month that I haven’t had to get up in the middle of the night to pee!! And no waking up with headaches either.. I was never tested for sleep apnea, but I suspect I had it and it’s gone now! 😁
