  1. Hi- I had it too, and one of the meds was promethazine, 25 mg. Don't suffer. Tell them.

    The Dreaded Plateau

LOL, don't worry. Your body will adjust. It will start again. LOL really. I am at the point the loss is so slow. But I get on the scale, and there is another pound gone...

    WL Journey Theme Songs

I wish there was a song that was "$^&*^^% you." "&^%$ you" to all the fat, all the food, all the people that snickered behind their hand over the years, all the ones that looked at me like I was crazy for doing it, etc, etc...😊

    Where’s my Butt??

LOL, enjoy the pain. (actually a seat cushion)
  6. I was just tired of being fat. At 69, the weight does not leave as easily. It was creeping up, little by little. I started having issues with my blood pressure. NO family history, so I was pretty sure the weight was causing it. So I am off that med. The idea all started when I was looking through what Medicare would cover, and it covers that! Then I found that Tricare did too! It took about 6 months to satisfy all the requirements, but I am glad I did!
  7. OK, this starts with a joke I heard once a very long time ago, from a Reader's Digest, I think. One lady (on scale) to another: I'm trying to get down to what I never thought I'd be over! I just did. 132 lbs. YAY me!!

    Help with nausea?

I have had the nausea for a long time. Ask the doc for a prescription. If the dosage isn't enough, tell him. I had mine upped several times.

Hair is starting to thin a bit

I'm older, have alway had thin hear, so it is more os an issue for me. I thought I had dodged the bullet until last month. It fell like rain! It may have been my reluctance to take my vitamin, due to all the nausea I had. Know the song "I'm a believer"? You betcha those vitamins go down now. And the hair loss has slowed down, and it is coming back in...
  11. I was alone. I had someone take me and take me home, other than that....I slept a lot. It is an easy surgery--(I have had several, so I consider myself an expert, LOL) I have kids, but an hour away. Eat the way you are supposed to, take the pain meds, make sure you have something for nausea.

    Hunger crushed and taste change

100 percent on the restless feeling, I open the fridge, sigh and close it. I look in the pantry, sigh and close it. I am not depriving myself, just don't know what to do. Restless. Also- I decide on something, fix it, sit down with it, and go "Meh..."

    I tried real food

Glad you talked to your people! What the heck is Oatabix? and cottage pie?? As we say in the southern U.S., you ain't from around here, are you? LOL! I tried several things before I should have, and SO regretted it...

    Hunger crushed and taste change

I am 8 months post op. I get hungry.. but not the same way as before. No hunger pains, but a kind of...restlessness, lol, like a dog that can't quite find a good place to lie down. I like to eat, but this surgery has made me do what I should have done all along. Not eat as much.

    complications

I'm sure bloodwork was done? No increased white blood cell count?
  17. Hangers! I can't replace my clothes fast enough, I have a plethora of hangers! (I just bought a new "outfit" and when I got it home, it's too big! And it was my "new" size, too!)

    No cooking!!!

Well, right after surgery, you probably won't feel like going anywhere. I am single, and my best friends were instant mashed potatoes and (not at the same time) tomato soup. After the liquid stage, I went out and ate scrambled eggs if it was breakfast/brunch time, then soup later. Panera has a good soup, and Longhorn has wonderful french onion soup. You can find stuff.

    Beware The Coffee Creamer Pipeline

As regards to the sugar free syrups, they are amazing--and you can find them in the oddest places. I went to the Christmas Tree store, and found some wonderful ones...
  20. I too have Tricare. It might just be an excuse, as quite frequently some doctors won't take Tricare. Doesn't pay enough. A thought: make them put it IN WRITING why they refuse.

    Too old for plastics?

69 and going to have something done, just collecting some $$!! If you want it, go for it! Both my kids are older than you!

    Men are so frustrating!!!!

MY MAMA SAID...(God rest her soul, she's been gone almost 20 years) Anyway, Mama said that men do not want you to change. Subconsciously, they don't want you prettier, they want you less attractive to others. Over the years, I have...noticed...that she tended to be right, whether it was weight, a haircut, even clothing. Just saying, food for thought.
  23. Go for it-- I had some problems after, mostly with nausea, but would NOT change a thing. Good luck!

    Difficulty swallowing pills

My own wicked mind had the same question for me, and I thought about wrapping my pills in a piece of cheese. You know, like we do for our pets... 😂😂
