I am new to this forum thingy so don't mind me if i dont use all the abbreviations available.
My story so far....banded in October 2005, lost 30kg and got done to 115kg, then fell pregnant. This was a miracle in itself as doctor after doctor had told me that it was not possible for me to get pregnant and I would never have children naturally. Had my son in November 2006, and although I hadn't had any Fluid out of my band I just didn't seem to be able to lose any more weight. Fast forward 9 months...me & my family are getting set to travel to africa to visit my husband's family so I decide it would be best to have the fluid out of my band as we don't want any complications whilst we are there. On my return from Africa 3 months later I had lost 10kg and was feeling all good and motivated to lose more weight...but that didn't happen and I have actually put on about 15kg since my return. About 4 weeks ago I decided it was time to do something about it and thought I could try and lose weight by myself. So for the past four weeks I have been going to the gym 4-5 times a week including 2 personal training sessions and eating really healthy but I just don't seem to be losing the weight. So on the weekend I made the decision to get my band refilled...I am booked in to get a refill next Thursday morning. The girls at the centre where I had it done have told me that the doc will probably recommend a puree diet for at least a week cos it is going to be as tight aas it was when i first got the band put in...bring it on I say!!!!
Hopefully this helps me kick start the losing weight thing....can anyone offer any support or food tips for my impending journey back down the gastric banding road??? :wink2:
