What date will you be banded? I am going on the 3rd! I have priced everywhere and it seems like it is less costly to go back to CO to Dr. K so that is what I will do, at least for now. If it's going to cost me the same I might as well stick with the surgeon performing the surgery.

Hi All, I am not banded yet but will be on Sept. 3 with Dr. K in Colorado. I am not in Spring Hill but used to live there and my Dad lives there. He has several houses there. I live in Tallahassee and there don't seem to be many (if any) of us here :biggrin: It's still nice to have others in Florida to go through this journey with. Congrats to those already banded and good luck to those of us who have yet to begin our new lives. Deb

Hello all, I emailed FillCenters USA a few days ago and the response I received was that the first visit is $545. and every visit thereafter would be $285. Every fill is done with fluro. This would be more expensive for me than flying back to Co. where I will be banded on Sept. 3. And they are only there every other month (at least in the Moultrie GA one). Just wanted to let you all know what I found so far. Deb

I called his office about a week ago and got a date of Sept. 3. They had the 27th or 28th of August available but said everyone was cancelling due to no vacancies at hotels with the democratic national convention in town.

Ok, so I wrote this at work and didn't pay close enough attention to my grammar. The plural is samurai not samurai's. Sorry about that. One other thought I had was September Starlets. That's all I have :thumbdown:

Ok, so this one is a little weird but I kinda like the name September Samurai's. I am not japanese but just one of the definitions of samurai is "A professional warrior". I do feel like a warrior in my weight loss battle :wub: Just a thought. I would like any name that is chosen.

Shelby, Thanks so much for your reply. Can you give me the name of the place you go for fills? Also, if I might ask, what do they charge? I called one place in GA and it would cost me more to go there than to go back to Colorado! It's nice to know someone else in in Tallahassee :frown: How often do you need a fill?

I am getting banded on Sept. 3 and would really like to find someone in my area but doesn't have to be. I am 43 y.o., married with three kids. Two are grown and one is about to turn 18 and go off to college next year. I have 90-100 pounds to lose.

Where do you live? Are you in the Tallahassee area? I saw that there is a fill center USA in Moultrie, GA and thought I might look into that. I don't know anything about them yet though. I am going to try to get my first fill in Colorado, I am getting banded Sept. 3 there but after that I will need to find someplace closer to home. Airfare is ridiculous.

BethO, Yeah! Another person in the area. How did your banding go? I have been looking for people in the Tallahassee area and now I found two in one day. Do you know of any local support groups? I hope you are feeling well.

I have been researching this for a year now. I am self pay. Then one day (after I chose my surgeon) I realized I just needed to make the call. After I did and had my date (Sept. 3), I got so nervous! I was thinking "What have I just done?" But then I made my airfare and hotel reservations and I feel so much better about it. I think once it becomes a reality that you might actually go through with the surgery, you get nervous. I know this is the right decision for me I only wish I could've gotten an earlier date.

That would be nice I am only satying three days after surgery and I was hoping that would be long enough. From what I hear it should be. Do you know how long after surgery you go back for your first fill? I haven't ahd my consult yet so I don't know but I would sure like to book airfare ahead of time to get a good deal.

Hi All, I am going to Colorado for my surgery September 3. I would love to talk to others in the area about their experiences.

I am new to this site, been reading for awhile though. I am getting banded on September 3. I'm a little nervous now that it is all in place.

My surgery is Sept. 3. I am so worried that the Dr. will get in and not be able to do it because of my liver. Has anyone not been able to have the surgery due to the size of their liver?

I finally made an appt. for my surgery. I chose Dr. Kirshenbaum as well and I would love to know how your phone consult went and what you thought. My surgery is on Sept. 3. I am also in Florida, Tallahassee. Where do you live? Good luck to you.
