  1. I feel the same way and am hoping that my first fill (Oct. 7) will last a little while. Where did you find fills for $200.?
  2. I'm right there in Bandster Hell with you
  3. You are very talented! I love your jello mold
  4. Sadly, I cannot keep up either :w00t: I find myself on here when I should be working. I love this group!
  5. I was told it was on Oct. 7. I booked my fill for that day so I could fly in and attend it :cool2:
  6. Ok, I am ROFL now!! That is the exact thing I wanted to say to the woman on the phone. I was dumbfounded and didn't even know what to say. When she said 800, I said "dollars?!". She said "yes, Dollars!" then I could almost hear the silent "idiot!"
  7. Yeah, I was going to do that anyway but I called that one more Dr. and was shocked to hear yes, we can do it for you. Do they think I am stupid or something and would actually (or could even) pay that price. But then I would miss you So Denver it is. I am not even looking anymore. I think you ALL need to move to Tallahassee, pretty please? Deb
  8. Too funny! Before I came back to work this week, my entire days were spent in front of the T.V. with the political news. I had to literally pull myself away at the end of the day even though I ws hearing the same stuff over and over again. Be strong, you can do it
  9. Lotza, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. I finally found one Dr. in Florida that would do fills but they said it would be anywhere from $300-$800 and you wouldn't know until you got there because "every fill is different". UGH!! Deb
  10. I will second that! This is by far the best site ever. Everyone on here is so wonderful. Dr. K is absolutely the right choice too
  11. I don't know the reason but it is so frustrating! I called another Dr. today who is 3 hours away and the same answer, nope! Fill Centers USA are way more expensive than going back to Denver so...
  12. I am one week post op today and still suffering from trapped gas. It is a little better but still there. Walking did not help nor has anything else. I do not have a rocking chair but I stood up and rocked my body like when you rock a baby. It did not cause any of the gas to escape but moving it around at least helps a bit with the spasms.
  13. Wow, when you think about your weight in "people" it's even more amazing! I do wish I was local so I could have easier access to Dr. K too. Nobody here will even consider doing a fill on someone else's patient. I am scheduled for Oct. 7 for my first fill and I hope it will last a little while.
  14. I am 5' 5" and I am not even sure what my goal weight should be. I never really thought about a number, I just knew I wanted to get healthy.
  15. Wow, congrats on the tremendous weight loss! My heaviest was 237 lbs. I will be so thrilled if I even come close to your weight loss. How many fills have you had?
  16. Yeah, I agree with you about the weight loss ticker. I almost didn't put one on. I am trying very hard not to compare the pounds lost or to concentrate on the pounds I lose but... Most of my weight loss was absolutely pre-op. I lost 21 pounds on the pre-op low carb diet but I started the diet as soon as I got the packet from Dr. K which was a little over a month pre-op. The paperwork said to cut out certain foods immediately, which was most of the carbs. Dr. K said (the day before my surgery) that it wasn't necessary. I can't really complain though, I'm glad I lost it :cool2:
  17. Hi TallyJohn, I was just banded last Wednesday and I also live in Tallahassee. I was wondering who did your surgery and where you go for fills. Congrats on the tremendous weight loss! I'm interested to hear your theories about banding. Deb
  18. I checked mine just to be certain. I wasn't too concerned about the antibiotics but the pain meds I thought might be a problem and if they took it away I thought it might be hard to get it replaced. I would have the pharmacy put it into two small bottles, or at least a bottle that is not way too large. Mine was in a HUGE bottle, not full of course, but the size of the container is what the airlines would have a problem with. I just took 1/2 a dose right before I got on the plane. If you do decide to check it, put it into a baggy first just in case of any leaks.
  19. Thanks Mini, I'm feeling pretty good. Each day is a little better. I agree with everyone about day 3 though, lol. Glad that is over. I am going back to work tomorrow.
  20. Thanks Yeah, we were worried about Ike on top of Fay but looks like he will miss us, thankfully. I hope the remainder of hurricane season is quiet for everyone.
  21. With a 2 hour layover you should be fine. I had surgery last Wednesday and flew home on Sunday. Our plane was a little late and we ended up only having 15 minutes to get to our connected flight and it was very far away (Memphis). I managed to get there with one minute to spare but I thought I would die before getting there! Walking was fine but not sprinting, lol.
  22. I'm back home in Florida after being banded Sept. 3. My road is finally passable after Fay's flooding and most roads are open again. Every day is a little better. I'm glad I stayed a few days after surgery. Walking the airport and flying wasn't the most comfortable. We drove to the mountains (height 7,500 ft.) and took a walk the day before leaving Denver. It was beautiful but I wouldn't advise it so soon after surgery, lol. I was going to go back to work today but am putting it off until Wednesday. I hope all those who are newly banded are doing well
  23. Thanks, two weeks and counting for me
