  1. Thank you I have never been able to drink a lot so my body must be used to it by now. I must say though that my last trip to Denver sucked because I had altitude sickness so I will at least try to hydrate before those trips. Deb
  2. A lot of people have said they like the bullets and they fly off the shelves at the store so I think it is mostly me. I have a hard time drinking anything at all so that is part of the problem. I don't even drink 24 oz. in a day. I know, I know, nurses no need to tell me how I need to drink more, lol I am trying though. Deb
  3. I bought a ton of those whey bullets and I don't like them a tall. I would try one first before buying too many. The consistency is thick and they give me a stomach ache :pray2: I have heard that if you make jello and add them to the water when you make it they are good but I haven't tried that yet. But I am hooked on the Starbucks Vivanno so I have been making my own version of it and I love it! I bought the chocolate whey protein from Sam's club and I use one scoop of that with 6 oz of skim milk and one whole banana and I add about a teaspoon of cocoa powder. Mix in the blender. You can either use ice cubes or what I do is cut up my bananas and freeze them instead of using ice. It is sooo yummy!!
  4. Wow, what a deal! Fill parties would be so cool  Deb
  5. I haven't been on for a few days. Congratulations on your marriage!

That's so awesome! Congrats to you
  8. I called several of these Dr.'s and was told no, they would not do fills on other Dr.'s patients no matter where you were banded. I should have kept a better list but for sure the Tallahassee Dr., Dr. Crooms will not. Deb

    Fill Doctors in Florida?

I called Fillcenter and got the prices for The St. Pete location. The first fill will be $349. and every fill thereafter will be $165. If you wanted fluoro or needed it for some reason then it would be an additional $75. This provider does all fills under live x-ray though (I was told) at no additional cost. I would go there if it were closer but it is 4 1/2 hours from me :wink2: Hope this helps some. Deb
  10. Sounds like my port is in the same spot as yours. I don't know if my is still swollen or if it is just sore but, Dr. K says it will get better. I guess maybe it is swollen because I feel pregnant, that part of my stomach has never been this big. (Guess I just answerd my own question, huh. lol). My bra does rub on the port scar at times and when bending over I do get some pain (not terrible but I can feel it) from my port. Deb
  11. Not everyone wants to go to FillCenter because, while it is awesome that they exist, especially for those banded in Mexico, they are quite costly. It is far cheaper for me to go back to Denver where I was banded then going to Moultrie, GA, which would be the closest for me. You also have to consider the cost of gasoline these days. I would loe to see the cost come way down, the patient load would go way up so it would remain very profitable. Just my two cents Deb
  12. Hi Sarah, I would be interested in that group. Where is it? Do you know if there are lap-band patients as well as other forms of bariatric surgery patients? Were you banded here in Tallahassee? If not, I am wondering where you get your fills? I agree there don't seem to be many of us here Deb
  13. I like that rule, I will try that as well. I don't tend to take any times between bites. Thanks Deb
  14. I was thinking of the chicken in that salad we had, lol!

    Fill Doctors in Florida?

I sure wish the Moultrie, GA Fill Center would match that price! Glad you are happy with them

    Fill Center USA

they vary by location due to the fact that some centers make you use the fluoro and then the first visit is pretty costly. I live in Florida so I only have the prices for the fill center that travels to Moultrie,GA every other month. It is much cheaper for me to fly to Denver to get my fill which is sad. If you want the costs they quoted me, please feel free to PM me and I will give it to you straight from my email that they sent me. Deb
  17. I had to laugh at this because this wsa my biggest fear, lol! I gag so badly when I chew to mush. I have issues with textures. I think I have pretty good restriction from my first fill which was last Wednesday. I got 3.2 cc's and have lost 8 pounds so far and I am not chewing to mush. I still am eating more than I thought I would be able to but obviously it's ok so....Yes, I agree, be careful with the meat though. But do not be afraid, I was scared to death to even drink the first time after the fill. Dr. K kept saying come on drink, big sips, ha,ha! Anyway, I hope this helps some. I am chewing more than I usually would but not what I thought I would have to do. I am four pounds away from onederland and never thought I would get there again in this lifetime so I am a happy, happy camper (bandster)right now :cool2: Deb
  18. I am in need of some clothing! I have one pair of pants that fits me now. If anyone has any 16's or 18's that they are willing to part with I would be happy to buy them from you. I need work and play clothes, tops and bottoms.
  19. I have to agree with this. You are obviously not "considering" since you've already been banded elsewhere. I think it was a good post but would be (more) helpful elsewhere on the forum.
  20. Yes, in my particular case, I think I made the right decision for me. I was originally going to go to the Philippines. We have a client who does Domestic and Foreign nurse recruitment and I was going to go on one of the trips to the Philippines and have it done but due to immigration retrogression that trip fell through. This led me to look into (all) other avenues, and there are many
  21. I think you are mistaking these comments for outrage. I know I certainly didn't mean to sound angry or anything. Any information is welcomed and appreciated. I personally chose Dr. K but that doesn't mean I don't think there aren't many other qualified surgeons out there. For me, being self-pay, I first looked into him because of his price. Then I was pleasantly surprised by his extensive surgical experience so for me it was a win win situation and I couldn't be happier. I am so unbelievably grateful to him for making the aftercare affordable as well. Hopefully, everyone considering any surgery will do extensive research.
