I was originally banded 4/16/03 by Dr Spivak.  My starting weight was 247.  I lost down to 153.  I had a leak in my band tubing in Jan 06.  He went in and repaired the leak and replaced my port.  In 2008 I started having realy really bad acid reflux.  He removed my fill told me I was at a good weight and nothing was wrong with my band.  BUT I just knew something was wrong.  So I went on a search to find a surgeon who would see other Dr's patients.  I found Dr. Marvin.  He did several tests, and determind tht my band had slipped behind my stomach. Not a major slip. but it was still painful.  In March of 09 he went in and replaced my lapband with the realize band.  I did well starting out.  Then I had thyroid issues.  The cyst on my thyroid was removed in April 09.  The thyroid issues caused many issues not losing weight, hair loss, fatigue, depression.  I started on thyroid meds and started to become somewhat normal.  in december of 09 I finally hit my sweet spot in fills and the weight is coming off.  So I'm back on the bandwagon!!first band 4/03: 247/153/1602nd band 3/09: 224/210/160
