The facial features do not even look like the same person
  4. If you are missing food so badly, just drink a ton of water and eat some sugar free jello or sugar free pudding. It helps to be able to eat something, anything. You can do it, don't give up. Read a book or watch a movie to get your mind distracted.

    Kaiser So Cal BMI 39.8

I think I would make another appointment and eat like crazy leading up to it then drink a quart of water just before. Make sure you have your keys, wallet, spare rolls of quarters, heavy shoes etc on when you weight in. Silly missing out over 3 pounds.

    July 2021 Surgery People!

I was talking to my program coordinator this morning before my surgery in a couple weeks. She said it is perfectly normal to have emotional ups and downs. It happens to a large percentage of people who have had the procedure. It will pass...stick to the plan.

    July 2021 Surgery People!

Hang in there...some start slowly. As long as you are walking and sticking to the diet plan it will start to come off.

    No urge to deficate

I am seeing a little bit of this for me Pre op diet. The good thing is I am seeing a half pound to a pound come off each day so I am not stressing it.

    Today is my 9-year Anniversary

Thanks for sharing. I am at the point you were 12 years ago as far as weight. I hope I end up where you are now.
  12. I agree with that you say here. That is why I was extremely blunt in my advice. I think anyone who has a spouse that let's their own insecurity lead to statements of non support need a firm talking to and a corrective action if they cannot put aside their petty insecurity and do what is right for their partner.
  13. Have a more blunt conversation with him. Do not let HIS insecurity get in the way of you achieving this goal. This is not a selfish goal you are pursuing, it is a healthy goal that you are right to pursue. Hang in there and good luck.

    Help needed

I just had a discussion with the Program Coordinator for my surgery who is a Dietician. she mentioned that hair loss was a possible issue and that those who were deficient on protein were the ones that she saw had a problem with it. Are you getting all the protein your need?

    June Surgeries

Wow...45 pounds in two months! Impressive
  16. I think your husband is being extremely selfish and has other reasons why he doesn't want you to get the surgery. Maybe he is self conscious and is afraid if you lose a lot of weight that he will lose you. Maybe bring that conversation up. If that is the reason, he needs to grow up, pull on his big boy pants and get over it. In ANY case he needs to grow up and get over it. It is his responsibility as a husband to take care of you regardless of his feelings. he can disagree but he MUST take care of you during and after the surgery or to be honest, he is not worth being with. Sorry for the bluntness, but it is really true.

    Documented weight loss attempts!

My insurance has this requirement. In my paperwork from the Doctor, he stated in his write up that I had attempted these weight loss programs unsuccessfully and they accepted that as proof. You can also use the surgeon and the dietician for a period of time as a supervised weight loss program.

Approved! O frabjous day! Calloo! Callay!

I was thinking the same as you. I am retired military using Tricare (Human Military) and thought for sure they would say no. I was all ready to counter with all the useless surgeries they are making commonplace these days that are more socially accepted and have become the norm as of late. Luckily, they just approved me right away, the very next day. I am very relieved.

I can't make up my mind!

The question I would tend to ask would be if you are just losing the weight to get the knee surgery and then let it come back on or if you think you can keep it off to help your knee surgery work long term. Seems like a simple question, but that to me is the key. If you do not think you can continue losing the weight then you are wasting your time with the knee surgery. I have relatives and friends that have had knee surgery and end up in the same condition because their weight stayed high. Just a thought.
