    Damn Tik-Tok

Yup. I scared myself! I was on tik-tok and boom! Came across a lady who had sleeve revised to bypass (like me) and had a horrible complication a few months out. Hernia Bowel I believe. Then she needed a vaccum on her stomach. It freaked me out and now I’m spiraling! I’m 5 days post op, thinking wth did I do! Someone give me some relief! That bypass will be ok! It only sounds scary. Ugh I hate when I do this! I had sleeve 2 years ago - also had fears early on. But I was good! But then I had a baby, wls stopped (although no regrets! I lost 130 in 1 year! ) and acid reflux.  Anyone else get revision?
  2. Maybe you’re being more mindful because you know what awaits on the other side .. I too was losing weight more than usual. Granted I made adjustments like less bread, healthier swaps etc but I was just excited and more on it because i knew what was to come
  3. I find it super annoying that people need to stress how supportive their spouses are obviously knowing yours is not. Literally no advice, just a boast on “my husbands better than yours” pretty much .. anyways .. understanding that your husband is unsupportive, I really stress to please try and find a support system! Even if paid, you will need support. Not to mention your hormones will be everywhere and that alone is a big one post surgery!

    Pain drinking water

I personally only like cold drinks - I use ice, place my drinks in the freezer/fridge etc. after all we’re able to have popsicles so I don’t see the issue
  6. Wow ! I know we’re supposed to believe and trust our surgeons but sorts that soon sounds like a lot .. I was on liquids 21 days pre .. and then clear liquids 2 days post and full liquid for a full calendar month.. then purées for 2-3 weeks and then soft and then full.. I’d chat with your nutritionist
  7. Hi! I had my surgery at the Tarzana Cedars Sinai surgical center and We weren’t able to have family or anyone in. Honestly I’m kind of glad because the lack of energy post surgery would have been too much.. all I wanted to do was sleep and walk when I could .. plus you’ll probably be on pain meds .. but the nurses will take awesome care of you!! I was only planning to stay one day but decided to stay overnight because of how sleepy I was. I didn’t really bring anything and I was totally fine .. :)

One Year Update (way too long)

These are the posts we need more of! You’re 100% right! People tend to post when they’re worried or have questions, and we rarely see the ones that are thriving and are okay. Honestly I’ve been having anxiety as I’m 6 days post op and I know it’s 100% due to me scared of the future and me looking for insight but actually running into other people who are struggling and then I get scared even more. The only thing I have at the moment is brain fog, but I’m also only 6 days post op

    Mental Health

You’re not alone! Here’s my insight.. So I had VGS on 7/29 - so I’m 6 days post op. I too have felt the same.. however, I also have dealt with 2 brutal, crippling depressive and anxiety episodes .. so during that time I really was able to learn myself and the way my brain works.. 9/10xs everything I felt was anxiety and it was a matter of calming myself, self affirmations , getting out, riding the wave and allowing waves of emotions and intrusive thoughts to come through and awknowleding them but not buying into them. So obviously being predisposed, I am having some mild depression and anxiety. Thoughts of “wth did I do” , “will I ever eat again” “what if I don’t like how I look” .. and oh ‘ the brain fog .. that always sucks. I texted my surgeon day 1 and got back on my celexa (antidepressant) that I haven’t been on for 3 years, and literally take it day by day. Remind myself why I did this, try not to google, and wrote down my feelings, etc. I’m not 100% but I know I will be .. there’s so many hormone changes and body acclamations we’re going through.. so it takes time. It was stress physically and mentally and this is so unknown for us. It okay and you will be ok. I recommend looking into a psychiatrist for some temporary relief to help with serotonin production and talk to a therapist. Rest a lot. And fake self positive talk even if you don’t believe it .. the mind believes what we tell it
