January bandsters our time is coming!!!
KawasakiChick replied to KawasakiChick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks Nikki and everyone else! I am feeling much better today. I'm still sore, but that's to be expected. I still don't have an appetite, but I am drinking TONS of water since my throat is sooo incredibly dry! I'm going to try to make myself drink a little Isopure here shortly to try to get some protein in. I'm supposed to be on a clear liquids diet with the exception of my protein drink, but I don't see how that's going to happen when I'm not hungry at all...oh well, I'll get it figured out! Hope everyone is well, take care! -
Hey Liz! Hope things went well for you today! I am doing great! My stomach is a little sore, but it's only really when I am getting up and down. Other than that I'm doing really good! I'm expecting the soreness to really hit me tomorrow, so we'll see. I'm not hungry at all, but my throat is soooo stinkin dry so I have made myself sip Water all day and I have had 2 SF popsicles. I think I'm more nervous about the Lovenex shots that my hubby has to give me starting tomorrow! Eek! Hahaha I'm sure it'll be fine. Well just wanted to check in I hope this message is finding you well! Take care!

Hey Nikki! I'm doing great! I checked in at 7am, was in surgery about 9 and was on my way home at 12:30! I have been sleeping a lot and creeping around the house. I am a little sore, but just feel like I did 5,000 crunches at the gym...plus the percocet helps LOL:cool2: Are you eating at all? I haven't had an appetite all day, but I forced myself to drink some Water since my throat is so dry and I ate 2 SF popsicles, but that's it... -

Carolina mom - so so excited for you! Congrats!! Nikki- I understand what you mean I am a Dr. Pepper drinker and have been wondering how I'll do it. But just remember it's all mental. Today I went to McDonalds for lunch and I didn't even eat half of my food. Once you really look at stuff like that just remember that it's all CRAP. I was actually kind of disgusted just sitting there looking at what I put in my body. But don't worry we are going to do great and we are going to look fab this time next year!! Woo hoo!!:tongue2: -
Lena- I'm glad your surgery went so well! Here is my list so far... EAS Carb Control Ready to drink Protein shakes (Wal-mart) broth sugar free jell-o Crystal light Bottled Water SF Popsicles Gas-X Liquid Tylenol Bio-Oil or Mederma (something with Aloe Vera for scars once I get the ok to use them) Sippy cup Centrum liquid Multi-Vitamin Baby spoon Herbal or decaf tea or coffee Hope it helps!! We're almost there!!
-
Jeanangell-- I too have read many negative things, but now that I am getting so close I have banned myself from reading any thread that may even possibly think about being negative LOL!! I'm sure we will all do wonderfully!! I'm gonna keep the hope alive for both of us! Take care!!

Wow we have quite a group going here! Thanks everyone for sharing! I know a couple of you had surgery today, and I hope it went well! Keep us posted! Only a couple weeks left for me...eek!:tongue2: I start a four day liquid only diet on the 16th, and I still have to meet with the anesthesiologist and do preop labs next week and then I'm done! I'm going to my doctor's support group meeting next Tuesday, so if I get any helpful tips I'll pass them along. Take care everyone!! -

Anyone with BC/BS Illinois ever approved??
KawasakiChick replied to Tamihott's topic in Insurance & Financing
I WAS APPROVED YESTERDAY!!! WOO HOO, NO DATE YET, BUT I'M ON MY WAY!!!:huh2::thumbup: -
:thumbup::sad_smile::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Finally after 2 denials and 2 appeals, I got my approval letter from BCBSIL today!! YIPPEE! I am absolutely ELATED! For a while there I had given up hope that I would ever get approved, but low and behold there was a bigger plan in the works for me! I have been in this process since 1/15 and am finally wrapping it up, it has been a heck of a year, but I am excited for great things to come in 2009!!

BCBS of IL - FINALLY APPROVED!!!
KawasakiChick replied to KawasakiChick's topic in Insurance & Financing
Hey there, well let's see the first time it was because I "forgot" to send in my 6 month medically supervised diet, but when I pointed out the page number from the fax, they magically found it and resent it for appeal. The second time they denied saying that my physician's monthly clinical notes weren't specific enough and they needed more info. It took my dr. almost 2 months to redo this to their liking and then I submitted again. It worked though, I was approved...I think they just wanted me to jump through some hoops...:huh2: GOOD LUCK!!:cursing:
