Hey Hotties!! I haven't been online in a while, so I thought I'd share the reason why.... I had my first episode of becoming VERY sick. I got a fill last Monday for a total of 6cc's in my 12 cc band. I was feeling great until Sunday afternoon (almost a week later). I just could NOT hold anything down. Food, soft foods, liquids NOTHING! I started vomiting and it didn't stop. I also started getting really bad tightness and chest pains. I knew it had to be that my stomach was aggigated from all of the vomiting, needless to say though, I thought it would pass. I stayed up all night Sunday and all morning Monday, completely miserable. I called my nurse twice and my surgeon once and left messages, but they didn't return my call until I was already taking action. I called my hubby at work and had him take me to the ER. I'm glad I went, I was dehydrated and needed to have the fluid removed from my band. Finally about 6 hours into the ER, they decided to admit me because I still seemed pretty washed out. Well, I just got home a few hours ago (THANK GOD) and am feeling much better, but I just wanted to pass along a warning to all my fellow bandsters... You know you're body and you know when something is not right. Be careful with your fills and if something doesn't feel right within a couple of days, take action and do not wait. My thought was that my Dr. is always a month out for scheduling so that I wouldn't be able to get in anyway, but ALL doctor's set aside time for cases like this. TRUST ME, you do not want to get sick like this, it sucked!!! I hope you all are doing well and I'm happy to see that so many of you are meeting goal!! Congrats!! Take care hotties!!

A fill CAN be too much of a good thing!!
KawasakiChick replied to KawasakiChick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, he put me on liquids for 5 days, I'm just starting to eat reg foods again! I can go back next week to have another fill, but I'm kind of apprehensive and still have restriction, so I may wait a couple of weeks. Speaking of loss...WOW! 61 pounds!! Share your secrets girl!! That is AWESOME! CONGRATS! I am dibbling in the 30 lb. range still, I think it's bc I am lifting weights at the gym now... -
Hi Hotties! Thought I'd start a thread where everyone can post their skinny goals and keep us updated on your progress as you meet your goal! I'll start! I have several... 1.) Lose 40 total pounds by April 1st...more than halfway there and I still have a month! 2.) Lose 60 total pounds by June 1st...coming soon ! 3.) Run the Tulsa Run this fall...it's only 5k, but I start a 12 week training program in May! I have soo much energy now, it's crazy!! 4.) Rediscover the joy in clothes shopping...I definitely am enjoying it now, but can't wait to get into even smaller sizes!! 5.) Feel good in a swimsuit! This is when I know I'll be pretty much done!

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well! B: 1/3c. Cottage cheese and a cup of decaf coffee L: Egg drop Soup and a couple bites of a small egg roll:blush: D: I am cooking right now...Grilled shrimp and Whole Wheat Angel hair Pasta with a small bit of Alfredo sauce ( I know pasta is a bad choice but I haven't gotten in enough calories today) S: SF Jello pudding if I need it Since my fill yesterday I already dropped 1.5 lbs!! Looks like it's working...haven't noticed a change in my eating except in the volume. I can still eat almost anything:thumbup: The only thing I haven't tried is steak...afraid it will be too tough and chewy. About to work out after dinner for about 30 minutes on the treadmill and a goal of 20 minutes on the elliptical....we'll see how it goes  -
Had my first fill today! It took all of 5 minutes, and it was sooo much easier than I expected it to be. I had anxiety over it I swear! They used a local anesthetic which helped, I didn't even feel them put the needle in my port. I'm curious to see how this helps! We put 4cc in my 12cc band! I'm on soft foods for 24-48 hours and then back to normal. I'll keep everyone posted!

Hey Hotties, Long time no talk! I hope everyone is doing well. Well, I'm coming to the forum for advice and to see if anyone is going through what I am...it seems that I've hit my first plateau. My appetite has picked back up but I'm still making good food choices. Today for instance, I had coffee and a Protein shake for Breakfast, lunch was egg drop Soup and a couple of crackers. For dinner, I had 3 small chicken wings with NO ranch (Killer I know!) and a small handful of pita chips. However, I am still stuck at a loss of 16 pounds. I have been stuck for about a little over a week. I have my first fill on 3/3, so I'm hoping it will help, but my morale is just so blahhhhh!!:rose: I even changed my schedule at work (6-3) so that I can spend time at the gym before picking up our daughters. Hopefully, that'll start to pay off. I'm feeling amazing and I can see changes in my body, but the scale numbers aren't changing:cursing: Anyone else going through this??

Favorite "post-band" chain restaurant?
KawasakiChick replied to cookiebaby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a few... TGI Fridays - Potstickers seem to fill me up right now, but I also like their Key West Shrimp Chinese - Anywhere with a good Egg Drop Soup is okay by me!! Fish Daddy's - (This is a chain but may be an Oklahoma thing) They have great Stuffed Fish. It is enough for 3 meals for me, I LOVE it!! If I'm with the kiddos... McD's - Chipotle Snack wrap (grilled) maybe some apples if I want something sweet I must say though, that it is amazing that I don't drink pop anymore...but it makes it challenging to find something to drink if you are not in a water-type-of-mood. I always carry a few different flavors of Crystal Lite packets with me just in case. -

Thanks for the yummy recipe Lena! I'm going to make some this weekend when I have more free time! B: FF Yogurt, Black coffee with a scoop of Protein powder L: Taco salad minus the taco shell...(I think I just wanted the taste of a taco lol) S: Small piece of beef jerkey, handful of almonds D: Small piece of roasted chicken (about 3 ounces) and steamed veggies Got in about 72 ounces of Water today and a whopping 76g of protein!! Yay me! (Tip: I love Fruit punch Crystal Lite and mix in Protein bullets with them...you can barely even tell they are there since the Fruit Punch flavor is so intense) Had a 45 min run/walk session on the treadmill and took my daughter's to their school's skate night...so good exercise day too! -
Do you get sick of other people.......

OMG, I sooo feel all of you in this forum. My DH does the same thing. He is trying to be helpful and I know he is but it is ANNOYING. We were at breakfast yesterday and I ordered 1 egg and a small slice of ham and I didn't even eat HALF of it and he was like "Why are you forcing it, you know you shouldn't eat that" I got so mad. I'm still an adult and I know that ham isn't the best of protein choices which is why I spent an hour and a half in the gym yesterday and lost .5 pounds for the day by compensating with healthier choices during lunch and dinner. SOOO annoying UGH!! To play Devil's Advocate though, I have talked to him about me being scared to fail and I know he is only looking out for me, it's just the WAY people say things. -
Hello there! I also have BCBS and I had to do the 6 month diet...It took me a year to complete all of their requirements and get an approval ( I was denied twice) but it is all sooo worth it. Send it in, see what they say and don't give up! There were days when I was sooo discouraged, but they want to find a way not to pay...be adamant that this surgery will change your life. Keep us posted, best of luck!!:sneaky:

Thanks everyone for the support! I have reduced my calorie intake but maintained my Protein and today I stepped on the scale and I was one pound lighter!! Woot woot!! LOL:thumbup: The weight thing is such a mental game, it's crazy! I'm gonna be optimistic though that it will work out. I'm working out 4 days a week now and I'm feeling good! I can't wait for a fill to see what it does for me since I am doing my part! Kristilaw - It's a small world, I also went to Jenks HS!! Class of 2000! Keep your head up everyone and have a great weekend!!

KawasakiChick replied to KawasakiChick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ooh, fill time already?! I guess it IS about that time though! Keep us posted Lena, I'm curious to hear how it goes! -
Yeah a "little bit" in my terms is still several weeks out. LOL They are thinking end of February-ish, unless my appetite doesn't pick up by then...I'm still not hungry so it'll probably be March I'm sure
-
I got the ok from my dr. to use Correctol and it took 3 days but it finally worked today...thank GOODNESS. I was beginning to think something was SERIOUSLY wrong with me LOL Correctol is a small pink pill, so it was easy to swallow and you can take up to 3 in a 24 hour period.

No appetite...how long did it take yours to comeback?
KawasakiChick posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey all, So I was banded yesterday and all went well. I am feeling great, I am up moving around and even took our little Yorkie on a short walk this morning! The weird thing is that I have absolutely NO APPETITE.(Shocker!!!) I am super thirsty because my throat is so dry, but not hungry at all... Did a lot of you experience this and when did your appetite come back? I am having to force myself to try to get in some sips of my Protein drinks, but I really don't even want to drink them... -
Good Lord Love! 80 pounds since November?! That's awesome! What are you doing? I was just banded Tuesday so I'm trying to get a game plan together! LOL You look great!
-
Hey all, I was banded on 1/20 by Dr. Gorospe at Bailey Medical Center in Owasso. I have my first post op on Friday 1/30. I am doing quite well! No pain, just a little sore, no appettite AT ALL! I'm just sipping Protein drinks and Water throughout the day. I thought this would be a great way to share our experiences through the same doctor, and also get a chance to meet each other if anyone goes to the support group meetings? Does anyone still have a copy of the post op diet? My hubby accidentally trashed mine with our mail, so I don't have it....thanks!!

OK It has been over a week How are you New Year Hotties doing?
KawasakiChick replied to Peanutband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey all! I was banded on 1/20 so only for a few days. I'm doing great though, no pains just a little sore. I'm not hungry at all but I'm forcing myself to sip Water and Protein drinks all day. Other than that things are great, thinking about going back to work Monday and just enjoying not pigging out on every whim. I learned today that I am an emotional eater BIG TIME. My hubby got laid off this week, and even though he found and has started a new job, he will have a 3 week window with no paychecks...so I'm a little stressed. I literally wanted to just stop and eat something comforting, but I KNOW it is NOT worth it. Nice to learn what makes you tick so that I can be more aware....but all in all, I'm staying positive and I know that God has a plan for us and that everything will work itself out in due time! Take care New Year's Hotties!! -
Thanks girl! Everything went well! I am up and moving around like you wouldn't believe! Even taking our little Yorkie on daily walks, and I'm thinking about going back to work Monday, so we'll see! That's awesome that you ride! I have two bikes a Honda VFR 750 and a Kawasaki ZX-9R, I LOVE them! It's a small world!
Hope things are going well, keep me posted on your progress!!

No appetite...how long did it take yours to comeback?
KawasakiChick replied to KawasakiChick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks everyone! I guess it's more common than I thought! I'm enjoying not being hungry, and I haven't stepped back on the scale sine the morning of surgery, but I plan on doing so when my appetite picks up. I'm sure I will be pleasantly surprised to see the results. I guess for now I'll keeping sipping on Crystal Light, Protein drinks and SF popsicles to keep my throat from getting too dry. Thanks everyone, hope you are all doing well!
