I had to open the capsule and mix the meds with either pudding or applesauce. All meds need to be either crushed or liquid. As time pass's you may beable to swallow small pills. I have some that I cut in to and just take with Water. good Luck Shaz:thumbup:

I was banded on July 16 at that time I was 247 now I am 212 and 4 1/2 inchs off my waist. I just got my 2nd fill this week for a total of 5 cc . I do feel a little more restricted. My biggest thing is when fixing my plate I still tend to put more on my plate than I can eat. I guess I am going to have to measure instead of just dishing it out. The best part is I feel so good,I no longer take reflux meds. Not as much pain meds. I have RA and fibro, my B/P is a whole lot better. Getting the band was so worth it even if I thought I was nuts 2-3 days post op. It only got better. I am at the point now of thinning my closet of cloths that are to big. Good luck to everyone Shaz

I also am about your same size. I also have arthritis and high b/p that is the reason I had the sugery. With the weight loss it takes preasure off of the knees. I am limited to what excersise I do nothing that is going to hurt the joints. I walk on a treadmill at least 3 times a week. I have a grandaughter that is now 15 months old and I can keep up with her now and will have more fun with her not carrying around the extra pounds. Good luck in what ever road you choose. Get something in a pill form that can be crushed. Make sure you ask at Dr. or someone at the pharmacy some of the meds I had were time relaesed and could not be crushed. I still have to crush a lot of my meds that are to large to cut in half. I mix mine with sf pudding. There are options for you just need to ask. Good Luck Shaz :wink2:

I was banded on July 16th and medicare paid for mine. I am on disability due to a eye disease. I am in Indiana the only thing was the surgery had to be done in a center of exalance. Which is a center that does over 100 sugerys a year. I had to pay a small amount out of pocket. Good luck and hope you find the answers you need Shaz :thumbup:

In a pre op meeting they went over my meds and then after the surgery the Dr. wrote new RX"S for either a liquid or a crushable form of the same med or a simular one. They told me to mix the med's in applesauce but I could not get it down. I mix mine in sugar free pudding . Make sure you ask you Dr. Good Luck Shaz:smile:

I have IBS and was banded on July 16 2008. Right now I am on full liquids still so not sure how I will react. I do know that because of that I was not able to have the bypass. if thats the procudure I wanted. I think it depends on the Dr. more than anything. Have you asked a Dr. about this issue. I got the same one's at GNC the thing I don't like about them is they are thick and don't put them in the frgg like I did . Have not tried to mix it just drank it straight. Shaz

I am in the same spot you are. I am freaking out also. Trying to make sure I get the protien drinks going too. Also asking my self what have you done !!!!!!!!!!!! A freind of mine had the gastric pouch a few years ago and is telling me it's ok but still scared. I guess we just have to try yo stay on the listings they gave us for menu's and do what we can. I can relate to playing with the grandbaby. Mine just turned 1. I did not want to be the one that said I can't play with you. She is on the go all the time. I also have Fibro and RA so anything that lightens the loas is good. I have mine done on the 16. Shaz

Hi I am in Indiana. Surgery date is the 16th of July. I am excited and scared at the same time. Sometimes my will power is not the best. I am having my surgery in Dayton Ohio it is closer than Indianapolis. I have always been heavy as a child and grew more out than up I am 50 this year. Looking for info and support. Thanks
