Howdy form Texas...although I am new to this board, I am not new to lapband. Not that I am extremely proficient but I had by surgery in Dec. of 2006. I had my first fill the following Feb. In June some of the 1.4 fill was removed as I couldn't keep anything down. Then I had a bout with acid reflux and did all the fun tests before having the rest of the fill removed this April. Today I had my"2nd" fill....hopefully I have learned from my past mistakes and will not make them again. Dr. Felix Spiegel 12/1/2006 first fill 2/14/07 first unfill 7/09/07 second unfill 4/30/08 211/160/135

thanks for the help....I tried it out and I'm not sure if I have it right...but I have daughter(technical support dept...lol) here to help!

thanks for the information...now...can you tell me or walk me through putting a ticker on my signature? Thanks again... :-)

I'm trying to...note my signature...the first unfill was because of the not eat all day...but gorge all night. I didn't know about "starting over"(follow the procedure for your given procedures for after surgery or after a fill). That might of helped if I had followed it. But I kept irritating it with food. You might also just have too much there are some of us who just don't need a lot of fill. I know down at 1.0 I was having bad acid reflux keeping me up all night...I did everything except the start over thing until all tests were exhausted...but by then it obvious I needed an unfill and rest. I am trying to do things right this time....I just had my second fill Thursday. However, today I begin to go to mushies...so I am not on solid food yet.

I went through that...couldn't eat all day long then evening came around and ate everything I could get my hands on....especially easy to eat soft/mushies. I ended up getting an unfill. What I would suggest if you don't want to do that just yet is go to completely liquid diet for 3 days and then add mushies. If this doesn't help, see your doctor. You are risking having your band slip as well as your health. They had to take all of my fill out and I gained a bunch of weight waiting until I could get another fill.

well depending on how you look at it I went from a size 20 to a size 4 in about 17 months kind of like those miracle diets...ate what I wanted and didn't have to exercise. Sounds too good to be true...right? Well it was...I couldn't keep anything down most of the time. Would I do it again? Probably so, but with a lot more knowledge. Would I use the same Dr. probably not(his office staff is the pits. He's okay but face it...who do you deal with the most?) From what I am reading though...I do wonder if sleeve isn't the way to go..that wasn't an option when I had my surgery. I guess the best thing I do is read the boards now. You know you aren't alone when dealing with some of these things. If you have any specific questions just ask I will be happy to answer them if I can.

I was banded in Dec. of 06 and had my well woman check up that Feb including the mammo thing...I agree ....just the normal discomfort.

I am 57 and just found out they want to do a hysterectomy to remove/fix fibroid tumors. They did blood work and said I was still producing estrogen. I was told that it can be done with 4 small incisions. Anyone had this done? Someone told me that the mood swings get worse after a hys....is this true?

SURVEY-- Your Food Stages
beachlady1955 replied to deneicy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. Did you have a nutritionist? No, I was self pay and it wasn't required. Did you receive a written diet or program? Very vague and generalized. 2. What was your pre-op diet? Was clear liquids only...How long were you on it? 12 hours 3. What days were you on Clear Liquids? Only the day prior to surgery...and I messed up and didn't notice that until it was too late. 4. How long were you on Full Liquids? 1 week Did you incorporate any whole foods in this stage, for example, by blending? No 5. When were you on the Puree Diet? 2nd week for 1 week 6. When were you on the Soft food Diet? 3rd week for 1 week 7. In the soft food diet, were you told which foods to avoid or be careful of? No, was told this more with week 4...information is rather vague as I mentioned in another post. (eg high fiber breads and cereals, raw/fresh veggies, fresh fruits w skins, fried foods, tough meats, nuts & seeds. Were you informed that meat, rice and bread usually not tolerated until after 2-3 months) 8. Did you deviate from your diet? What was your experience, if so? I think I may have kicked it up a notch towards the soft foods week and did that only 3 days. Thanks. -
