What exactly is PB? I have seen references to it, but can't quite infer what it means. :confused2:

I am Mary, from Jacksonville, Florida. I knew about this forum for a long time, and now wish I had taken part earlier. I was banded on July 1, and had my first fill on August 8. For a while I had a lot of nausea, even on liquids, but that is gone. I went back to work maybe too soon, a week after surgery, and had a persistent pain across my mid back, right under the shoulder blades. Anyone have that problem? I also had an area that wouldn't heal at the upper center of the abdomen, and it kept being rubbed by my (ladies, you know where!) It turns out there was a little stitch, and once he took that out, it has healed. I am finally feeling really good, and looking forward to the whole process. I had lost 9 pounds on his scale from the day of surgery. Now I have lost 5 more. My biggest problem is that at night, I seem to be hungry and able to eat more than I should, so I am trying to focus on eating the right things, and not resorting to old habits. Right now, I can eat most things, even salad, if I chew it well. Reading a few of the posts, I see that it may take a few fills before I get the adjustment just right. If there is anyone in or around Jacksonville, who would like to be a band buddy, I would love to connect. I am truly happy I did this. Mary:biggrin2:

SOOOO Discouraged...Please Help
deepurple replied to Tracyde730's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lisa I wanted to respond to your last sentence..your band is less than 2 weeks old. Remember that everyone heals at a different rate. It is fantastic that you are taking short walks around the block. There is nothing wrong with you. As you heal, you will find more energy to do more exercise. Keep up the good work. -
How long after your surgery did you go back to work?
deepurple replied to PaulaTx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, Paula, I was banded July 1st, on a Tuesday, and went back the following Tuesday. I am a nurse who works 12 hours, and for my first 3 days, I worked only 8. My coworkers helped me with any heavy lifting, and I was able to get through it. I was very tired, though. The next week, I worked 2 12 hour shifts and then a 4 hour shift, and drove about 280 miles to a chorus festival I had planned for a long time to attend. While I was very tired, and sometimes a bit sore, I was very glad I went to the festival, but coming back, I immediately got a cold with cough and sore throat and muscle aches, and then had to take off a week+ at work. I think I did too much, and would really advise taking it a lot easier. I felt like I had to go back to work, we work in a closed unit, and there is a lot of pressure to not miss work. -
HELP? Should I travel a week after surgery?
deepurple replied to OllieGator's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went back to work after a week, then immediately the next week drove 380 miles for a chorus festival, which required a lot of walking, standing and singing. I was very tired, but I wanted to go to this 4 day festival very much, so for me it was worth it. My concern is the flying and the pressure changes, etc. This is probably a question best answered by your doc, as he knows you and your body better than we do.
