Hey, I thought I would post a quick update. My surgery was 3 years ago this week and I lost a total of 108 lbs. I’m down to 167! It’s been slow, yes, but if you eat reasonably you’ll eventually lose the weight. My goal weight (normal BMI) is 151.

I don’t think the pcos had any bearing on getting approved. The main items that were under consideration were my weight and track record of not being able to achieve a healthy weight.

You'll get there. After the first six months, I'm only losing about a lb per week, and sometimes less! -
18 months after lap band revision to RNY
Lutasha posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi all, I've been slowly but surely getting closer to my goal of 150-160. Sunday marked 18 months since my revision. It was not a walk in the park, but completely worth it. I have PCOS, and the insulin resistance was making it virtually impossible to lose weight. I've got a few other posts out there with pictures documenting my progress over time. I'll post a before and after picture on this post as well. I post because I was completely discouraged by six months out--I wasn't losing as fast as others that post here and it was getting me down. Hopefully other people can be reassured by this post that if you follow the eating plan, you will eventually lose weight no matter how lousy your metabolism. Here goes: winter 2014 and this morning -
18 months out now. 106 lbs lost. Down to 169.

No need to be ashamed of self you come a long way from where you started from! But wanted to ask what are your children ages ?Was asking because my sister has twin girls and she was telling me about this free exercise she does twice a week where people meet up with there kids and do this workout called mommy & me at a local park .I thought that was so wonderful anywho if you can find the time maybe look into that R4C They're two--will be three in April. That's not a bad idea! My husband just suggested we get a family membership to a health club. We belonged there in the past. It's incredibly kid friendly, with a cool "club" for them to play in--AKA babysitting that is included in the membership. There's also an Olympic sized pool and a small Water park that the kids just love!

Thank you so much! The hard work was well worth it! If I had unlimited money, I would get my inner thighs done, jiggly arms, a full body lift, and breast augmentation. My stomach is the worst of my problems and my highest priority. For whatever reason, I haven't had a big problem with back fat.

Thank you! I'm pretty sure exercising would no longer be the torture I remember it as when I weighed 250+. I am finally starting to get the itch to start exercising again.

Jessakate: I don't exercise at all, however, I am moderately active in chasing my four kids around at night. I am ashamed of myself and I know if I worked out, I'd lose more/faster.

Thanks for the tip! I would be open to financing it for sure!

I would say that you shouldn't waste any more time--convert to rny if you can. It is the only thing that has worked for me!

I'm a little more than 16 months out. My surgery was in July 2015. I was converting from lap band to gastric bypass. Best thing I ever did. I have PCOS with insulin resistance that lap band would never cure. My last update was at one year. I've made a little progress since then so I thought I would share. On the day of surgery, I weighed 275. At one year, I weighed 188. Today I weigh 174. I met with a plastic surgeon last summer who specializes with dramatic weight loss, but my insurance won't cover the lower body lift. At this point, I'm about to switch insurance anyway after switching jobs, so I'll try again in a few months. Ideally, I'd like to get to 150, however my official goal that I discussed with the medical team was 170. If I can't get insurance to cover it, i'll self-pay. I'll be damned if I've lost all this weight and have to keep a jiggly belly. To be fair, I have two year old twins (and two others), and the twins were EACH 7lbs 1oz. My belly needs serious help! Anyway, I'll attach an old picture and some recent ones. Enjoy!
