Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi Everyone, Even though I was banded in March of 2006, I'm a newbie here. I'm a 54 year old female who initially lost 10lbs in my first six weeks after being banded and now I'm going nowhere fast. My doctor doesn't want to give me a fill, since I still have trouble with certain foods and my doctor feels that I have alot of restriction. He's concerned that if he gives me a fill, I might damage my esophagus. Has anyone heard anything about this? Or does anyone suffer from this? My doctor said that if I continue down the path of not losing weight, he would like to remove the lapband. I was devastated when I heard this and perhaps finally believed and accepted that maybe I could try harder on my part. My husband and I were only blessed with one beautiful child, a daughter. She is to be married in 15 short months and I am planning a dream wedding. Does anybody have any input, suggestions or perhaps just your support, so I can be beautiful for "me" on our daughter's wedding day. Thank you for reading and God Bless you all. Warm Regards, Susie519

    I'm miserable

Hi There, I'd like to start off by saying hello to everyone. This is my first time visiting this site and therefore, this is also my first post. After I had my banding in March of 2006, I experienced terrible pain in my breast bone area that spread across both sides of my chest, but mostly on my right side. My doctor had me go through several tests, until I was finally diagnosed with a condition called "costochronditis" which is an inflammation of the chest wall lining. Sometimes this is mistaken for a heart attack. It can be caused by trauma to the area or perhaps if you've just recently had a virus. I was prescribed with an anti-inflammatory medication, however that didn't help. After about 10 days, my doctor gave me an injection of cortisone and within about 24 hours my pain was gone. Every once in awhile, I'll start to feel a little bit of the pain and I'll immediately start taking advil for a few days and rest a bit and then I'll feel fine. I hope this information helps. Feel better soon. Susie519
