Personal challenge between HP and D!!!
tigerlili08 replied to areellady's topic in Fitness & Exercise
You are cracking me up....I am going to have to make a home made scale. Ok....since it has been a rainy day today....I did 3.2 miles on the stationary bike, 50 crunches on my upper, lower and both oblique abs, 10 minutes on the gazelle, 2 sets of 20 on all arm muscles and then 10 minutes of hitting the heavy bag....man I was sweating something sick...lol Of course when you are doing all of this in a garage that in the garage which felt like 100 degrees that sweat can be expected. I know its late and I am trying not to eat past 7:15pm but I got out of work 2 hours late so I am off schedule today. Sorry you had a sucky day HP, tomorrow will be better! sleep well! -

Okay....so I have only looked at the scale 10 times today...only stood on it 2 times...and thats all for today...I promise. I have to find some kid who will draw me a scale that say looking good..lol too bad we cant make it have different phrases so it was a different thing every time i step on it! -
Has anyone ever tried a recumbent bike? What is your opinion on them? I am just trying to find a bike that my tailbone doesn't hurt with...whaaaah. We are having major storms coming in this afternoon and looks like it will be raining all night, so I guess it is my stationary recumbent bike tonight...all of the beautiful scenery of my garage!!

OKay...so I did my hour of Zumba...3 miles of biking and some 5 lb weights.... how many grams of protein does 3 bugs of various sizes contain....gulp...you would think I would learn to keep my mouth closed but I don't have that down yet..lol

It is still hard to remember small slow sips and chew chew chew...this was 32 years of a bad habit I am trying to break...so sometimes it hits me and then I am like....ouch...oh yeah...slow down...chew....ouch. I am really excited for you that you are finally banded!! I have been riding my bike with my husband and tonight we did a aerobic workout which ooooh so reminded me that I have no rhythm at all...it was great for an hour of laughing though!

Personal challenge between HP and D!!!
tigerlili08 replied to areellady's topic in Fitness & Exercise
My name is April...and I am a daily weigher. Sometimes I weigh more than 1 time a day....somedays I weigh up to 3 times a day...What are the 12 steps I need to follow? My husband is all for taking the scale away...he is ready to hide it and bring it out sunday night while I am sleeping so I can weigh monday morning. Isn't he just soooo supportive. Okay....so I ordered Zumba aerobic workout thing which is like a dance class...the nice thing about this workout is that the first week you do just the beginners dvd which breaks down each dance step. So I just spent the last hour with my supportive hubby attempting to do this...wow..all those nights when I use to go dancing my rhythm must have been alcohol induced because it is worse than what I thought. But we made it through it. We are going to eat dinner and go for a bike ride! I go back to the dr on Monday...Hopefully he will give me another fill, it has been 8 weeks since my first one and I think I am eating more than I should be able to. I am trying not to eat past 7:15 pm. -

Okay...I am here... I can't believe the scale has to go up except for on Mondays....Can I at least have a week of detox? lol My scale was up a few lbs this am...but it is that time of the month for it to be up..blah. So my starting weight is 266..I am not changing my ticker bc that will make me cry... We can do this!!! p.s. thanks for letting me crash your challenge! -
LT~ I hope you feel better soon...I haven't even had anymore surgeries this summer but sometimes I get phantom pounds too....they stay to visit for a few days...then they go away... I think it is my body in denial that they will be gone forever soon so they just bring them back to say goodbye..lol HP~ You look awesome and sooooo much happier and healthier this year! You go girl! Ok..I will stop hitting the quote button and posting now! Going to do my Zumba training (because this girl has no rhythm, so they gave me a week of learning the steps!) Then off to my bike ride once the sun starts to set!

Ummmm.... I was wondering if I could be a 3rd wheel in this challenge..I leave for my trip to Jamaica on October 7th and had a mini goal of losing 50 lbs by the time we went. I am 10 lbs away from that goal, but I wouldn't mind going over that goal by 8 lbs either! So.........I would like to try to get a total of 18 more lbs off by the time we go! :)
-
Deanna~ You are a huge inspiration to me!!! HP is another! I am just amazed at both of your transformations! I set my goal to 185 because I am 6ft tall. It has been many years since I have been in onderland so I am not sure where I need to stop and look healthy. I have a "large" bone structure so some people think that I may look "to thin" at 185. So it is a wait and see situation, in the meantime I just took the highest number from the American Medical Associations guidelines.

Hey D~ I hate when that happens. My doctor says not to drink while eating. They also told me that if I do have an experience like you had to do clear liquids for the rest of the day then advance to soft the next day and then back to regular food. I have been having to catch myself about how fast I am eating also. I work in the medical field so I am use to scarfing it down....it is a very hard habit to break, however my band reminds me if I go to fast. I hope you feel better soon! ~April

I haven't had my second fill yet, when I went back for the what I thought was going to be my second fill he said I had lost enough weight in that month he didn't want to give me another one. So I go back on 8-18-08 and hopefully he will give me a little more. I feel like I am able to eat more than I should. We will see.

Yeah...that was suppose to say jog....not job..ooops
-
D~ Congrats on the jogging and the tubing! I can't wait until I feel like I can handle a job(with lung capacity and knee's). Makes you feel like a whole new woman all over again! Hoosier~ I don't know many places to ride in Orlando, but you will be in the land of theme parks, you can surely get cardio in by walking Disney's Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios, they have an animal park now too, Universal Studios. If you do find a good place to ride..beware of the "flat land" we have no hills or major inclines here...just heat and humidity. It gets a little hotter in Orlando because it doesn't get the sea breeze that we get on the coast. So keep hydrated!

Hey Sandy~ Glad to see you are feeling better now! You are doing great with your weight loss! Isn't it nice to see the numbers fly off the scale! My dr. had me wait 6 weeks for my first fill. Once the swelling had gone down from the procedure I could tell I needed it. I wish I could have had one at 4 weeks though. Remember small bites and small sips of everything, go nice and slow!
-
Hi Little sister, You should start with me now! I am still just cruising the neighborhood, that way when we build up to it, we can take the long rides together and be on the same level! I am proud of you for taking this big step in your life!!
-
You will have a blast in Orlando...so much to do up there! What do you do for work? 6 weeks is a long time to be away from home. We are going to Jamaica in October for a week! We will be there for my birthday!! Are you able to bring your bike when you come for the October trip?
-
What part of Florida are you coming too?? We live 20 minutes north of Tampa. (I noticed on your ticker you have 1 more week til you visit) Sometimes it seems like my scale doesn't move at all...I keep reminding myself that this is a nice slow healthy process, that will never let it come back.
-
Thanks for the link...new recipes are always welcome!! Congrats on the scale moving down for you! I haven't been maintaing my low carb to well this week...I have been craving fruit, so I gave it to my body...the scale hasn't gone up, but it hasn't gone down either.
-
Hoosier- We have 2 beagles....the one in the photo eating the peanutbutter...she is 1 year old Lilah, then we have a 3 year old Jazzy. Better known as trouble and more trouble! You look awesome in the picture!! Congrats on such a wonderful weight loss!
-
I created a extra lean turkey meatball earlier this week...no bread product...and they were pretty tender and with a lot of chewing they went down okay.... it only took me about 3 small ones before I was full.
-
Hey Donita~ Glad to hear you are feeling better! Congrats on the weight and inches lost! I am addicted to my scale too. I think it is a mental thing! Sorry it took me so long to respond...I am new to this and forgot how to get to view my messages...lol Take care!

Hiya everyone.. When I went to Busch Gardens they said that you would not have a problem as long as your chest was less than 52'. Is Cedar Point in Ohio?? Sits on the lake?? I went there about 7 years ago, we had a blast, we went on opening weekend (in late May) and I still froze my Florida butt off! My scale stopped moving this week...I am hoping it it is because I started a new exercise routine and my body is just readjusting itself. My school starts on 8/25 as well...4 more semesters!! And I promise I will be done (thats what I tell myself every time I finish a degree or program)!

Okay..so I bought a new bike seat, it has helped relieve the pressure on my tailbone... so far! It is the Bontrager cruiser CRZ+ It was only $35 at my local bike store and I must say the owners of this store are awesome, they were willing to let me try out a few different seats until I found the right one. I had a NSV yesterday! My hubby and I went to Busch Gardens and I was able to fit into the roller coasters with having to ask for the larger seats!! I was a little nervous that I hadn't lost enough weight yet to be able to get the bars over my chest and tummy. But they closed just fine. Today we did yard work for over an hour and did a quick ride....when it is a feels like temp of 110 degree's there is only so much you can fit into the cool down hours before the sun sets! I checked out the daily plate, that looks like a pretty cool website, however it says for my height (6 ft ) and my current weight I am able to eat 2000 calories and still drop the weight, I am not eating that much now and I am not dropping 4 lbs a week.. so I don't know..

Hi Sandy, Welcome home and congrats on your band! If you are still having difficulty breathing you should probably call your surgeon. Did he put in a fill during the procedure? My surgical group doesn't do that but I have read on other threads of people having that done when their procedure was done. I hope you feel better soon!
