Hi I'm 8 weeks gastric bypass on Wednesday. 34lb at moment but my surgeon and team say slow and sure as I was like wow people loose far more faster but I started at 266lb. I stalled at some point but I take a picture every month on the first and the difference is showing. My mobility is so much better and I can now buy clothes in normal shops and stopping to hide under my baggies. Your doing great keep up the fantastic work Xxx

I'm 4 weeks after my bypass. Mine stalled last week but back on track I'm losing around a kilo/2.2 pounds a week. I was so obsessed with it I put in my head as long as I lose or stay the same I'm doing fine. Body is learning. Good luck Xxx

@Arancini I'm doing good. I was in hospital 5 days, had stomach drain removed after 10 days. It was key hole so I have 5 holes plus the drain one. The drain is still healing but nicely. The main work site is still bruised and tender but surgeon said I will feel swollen and pain for probably a few months. It feels like I've been punched and punched and punched but it's not as bad I thought it would be. I'm just over 3 weeks now and progressing from mush to more solid mush if you understand. I will be under the hospital for a year. But mine was done private and its a package which covers a year. I see surgeon again 18th. But see my nutrition lady and bloods doctor on Thursday where he will advise what supplements I require. I add protein powder to food 3 times a day to keep my levels up and do b12 injections once a month. How are you doing? My hardest problems are in the mind. I was brought up yo have 3 meals a day Breakfast lunch dinner But now I'm on 7-8 tiny meals a day which I think is too much in my head but they are the portion similar to a very small yogurt. But to eat anymore makes me so ill. But the advice my nutrition lady gives me is spot on (she has trained to do it I suppose) Stay strong and positive G Xxx

I tried Chicken at 2 weeks plus but dud not go well. Threw it all up felt awful I think it's called dumping It scared the life out of me. But Tried it at just over 3 weeks was fine really enjoyed it. My nutrition lady said don't have anything dry always make sure it's moist it helps it slide down. Xxx

Hi My care seems alot different to America. I live in Spain. I have a nutrition lady who for 1 month before gave me a full diet plan on what I liked then 3 days before it was water and 3 protein shakes a day. Had bypass on 6th For 2 days water only then a week of 2 shakes and fluid. Then onto puree now on soft food. I'm struggling with eating meat so sticking with vegetable based meals as that sits better with me I am on 7-8 tiny meals a day. Big love to all on our epic journeys Xxx

Hi Had my bypass done Wednesday 6th october. Managed a liquid poo on sunday. Sorry about description. But not done any since? My friends are you the same? I guess it's due to no solid food no poop 😃 Big love Grace

Yeah it all came good naturally the next day. But so funny I did the biggest ever and struggled to flush it. That night the mains sewer at end of road blew up lol Xxx
-
Hi I was exactly the same. I had my bypass on October 6th. Feeling better now I'm on puree. Stay strong and keep going it will get better. Xxx
-
Had mine done Oct 6th. Going well. Now onto pureed food. Got told by doc's rather handsome side kick 3 protein shakes a day but could only do 2 made me feel sick. Nutrition skinny lady said he's a doctor I'm the foodie don't listen to him regarding food 🤪 and she's right. Only bad bit was Dave the stomach drain who I had to go home with. His looks were not so stunning so he got covered with a sock 😏 but after 11 days we separated and went our separate ways. But all in all good, tired and taking it slowly. Big love to you all Onwards and upwards G Xx

Dear keepthefocus Be strong your doing it for the best for you and your family. We all know exactly how you feel Nd what your going through. I found surgery fine. I'm on day 6 after surgery and I'm OK. Listen to all the advice but listen to your self and body. I'm a very active person with work and home but have had to stop and realise I need time to heal. Will be thinking of you. Stay in touch. This time in a year we it will all be a thing of the past and do worth it. Xxxx

Hi I'm due to have a bypass on Wednesday morning. I'm really tearful and stressed. Is it lack of food? I keep thinking what if it doesn't work. I live in Spain and have paid to have it done as it's not covered in the health care here nd cost a lot of money. I desperately want it but scared it will fail even tho my rather handsome (bonus) surgeon assures me it wont. I'm worried about recovery and not being able to eat. Am I just driving myself and with anxiety? Am I just being a stupid nearly 50 year old woman. Sorry Xxx

It makes me feel more positive that in my dark hours which I know I'm going to have I have people who have been there and hopefully help me through. I wish you all health and happiness Xxxx -

Thank you for all your advice. Some of it is a complete mirror of my situation. It is a huge amount of money to pay but my health needs to come first. I shall continue my research but you are an inspiration to me Thank you Xxx -
